I am loosing the will to live - bridesmaid dress related

Ok, so I KNOW I am a fussy beggar but seriously, I've tried a ton of bridesmaid dress websites and they are all THE SAME!!!!!!

I have found a couple of dresses that stand out which are:-

this one which I LOVE but I am super worried about ordering from China as I've already said I'm fussy and it probably won't fit right and I'll have to pay a fortune to send it back.

I am going to try this one on at the weekend.

Having said that I'd prefer not to have a boob tube dress as I think they are done to death and a bit boring.

My fav one I've tried so far is this but is now out of stock. We were hoping to dye it.

Can anyone find something to inspire me?

You have mentioned the BHS twist and wrap dress which I loved but same thing, wrong colour!

these are the same thing (bit nicer quality) but come in all sorts of colours, including a pale pink (which I assume is the colour you are looking for?)
Depends what your budget is though as they are £200+

I love the HOF dress you first linked to - I would buy that if it was in stock for special occasions, but i agree with above in that I don't think it would dye well?

If you give us a list of bullet points of exactly what you do/don't want I will have a look around the tinterweb for you!

I am going to look at the 2 birds dresses tomorrow actually. My concern with them is that because they are not made in the style they would move during the day and i would be fidgeting with the dress all day IYSWIM. I owned a dress like that before and it was all well and good saying you could style it 100 different ways but that was only true if you didn't move your arms / head etc otherwise the dress just scrunched up and didn't look like it was supposed to.

Points to consider.....
Probably short rather than long
Rather not a boob tube (unless it has another unique feature to set it apart)
Lace feature
pale pink or green colour
Something special, I want to feel lovely not like just another guest in a frock.
I'm pear shaped so probably nothing too clingy around my huge fat arse

I think that's probably everything

just saw this and it reminded me of this thread, sorry if already been suggested.

sweetheart · 28/09/2012 14:16

thanks for the suggestion - it's a bit too old for me I think and also probably not a good shape on my giant arse Wink

God your fussy, it's just a dress!

sweetheart · 28/09/2012 14:23

ummm I know - I already said I was fussy! Have you ever heard the saying "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all"?

Ted Baker in Pink or cream
not lace but still pretty

Monsoon

Let me know if I'm close with these, will keep thinking for you!

FWIW I think the first one I linked to is gorgeous!

sweetheart · 28/09/2012 15:38

Brilliant Shabby thank you - those are much more along the lines of what I was thinking. I do like the 1st one you linked to but I think it's probably a bit too OTT for me - it is georgeous though.

Those are deffo the closet ones though.

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Diane-Von-Furstenberg-Ivory-Zarita-Dress-/251155314825?pt=UK_Women_s_Dresses&hash=item3a7a05f889#ht_500wt_1361

If you're happy to dye a dress, i think the DVF Zarita dress is very nice. The one listed here is a 14 I think.

sweetheart · 28/09/2012 16:16

This one any good www.feverdesigns.co.uk/barbarella-prom-dress-gold.html ?

MiniTheMinx · 28/09/2012 16:46

The tea rose dress is really nice.

ShabbyChit · 28/09/2012 17:08

OOH yes that one is lovely, really lovely!
I think the sleeves will be ok in summer as they look quite sheer, lightweight.

Check their international shipping costs and returns policy though [[http://www.bhldn.com/shipping-international/ here]

Worked out the cost to be £240.14

Just a few more I've found:

Bargain £30 in sale!

bit clingy maybe??

ShabbyChit · 28/09/2012 17:09

Startailoforangeandgold · 28/09/2012 18:04

Sorry The second one in the OP is the nicest of these by far.

Jelly15 · 28/09/2012 18:07

Don't oprder from abroad, especially China, sizing way out. Friend is a size 10 and she fitted into 16.

HyvaPaiva · 28/09/2012 18:48

Half Price Jenny Packham pale peach prom dress?

cashmere · 28/09/2012 18:54

Has the bride got her dress sorted?!
What does she think?

notMarlene · 28/09/2012 18:55

I though the OP was the bride

notMarlene · 28/09/2012 19:02

Might this be a good option? They do some beautiful dresses.

sweetheart · 29/09/2012 19:12

I'm not the bride, I'm the bridesmaid. Bride as said I can pick my own dress o long as its the right colour. She already has her dress.
I like a couple on the last website, they are a couple h ours from me but might be worth a trip
