I seem to remember hearing that crepe is some kind of awful 70s fabric. This is the dress. It's quite expensive so don't want to keep it if fabric will be horrible, sweaty etc.

You will be sweaty betty in this in no time. If it were like twenty quid I'd say go for it, but for £100+ you want something that resembles natural fibres.

Crepe has a funny crispy textured appearance.

Viscose is a (pretty much) natural fibre made from wood pulp.

Don't know if that helps you, dress is nice Smile

Viscose is usually a very soft fabric and crepe has an obvious weave and usually drapes very nicely. I imagine the combination of the two would be good. I would give it try.

It says 100% viscose on the label - the texture is as you describe Julia. I thought crepe was an actual fabric, but wikipedia tells me it's just a woven style of fabric which can be made out of anything (I'm guessing it was usually polyester in the past). I've already got the dress, just deciding whether to keep it :) Thanks for your help!

Polyester crepe would be yuck! Viscose is a different kettle of fish altogether. If it feels nice and looks good on you the keep it Smile
