Where do I buy a bra? <sobs>

I desperately need new bras - every day and sports. I bought my last lot in New Zealand but they now need replacing. The lot before that were bought at a local independent bra shop that has gone belly-up.

I am now at a loss - I haven't bought new undies in the UK for about 3 years. Where do I go? I am making the assumption that Bravissimo doesn't cater for the robbed-of-cleavage-by-pregnancy flat chested, I tried a couple in M&S and the whole horrible experience made me weep.

Where do I go from here? I do need to be properly fitted so I have reservations about buying on-line - although I could be persuaded. I can't afford to commute to London to Rigby & Peller!

I would try John Lewis for a fitting and they have a good range of bras.

Sadly we live in the only UK area not served by a John Lewis. The nearest is over an hours drive away.

Debenhams are sometimes ok, can be hit or miss. Are you sure you are too small for Bravissimo - most women wear too small a back and too small a cup.

I drive an hour for John Lewis. It is well worth it. Otherwise, local independents can be very good.

I'd drive a whole day for a decent bra! Make it a day out, lunch and a day in JL, my idea of heaven.

My favourite shop is Fishnets in Whitby (Yorkshire) www.fishnets-lingerie.co.uk. The range is amazing and the mail order service is very efficient. I think the owner also does fittings via Skype.
