How do you stay warm without a fleece???

I'm not talking to those of you who are still out and about in flip-flops and flimsy dresses!

Anyone who, like me, has had to wear socks and loafers or boots for the last 2 weeks and is dreading it getting colder...

I wanted to make a style effort this morning but in the end I just had to grab a fleece as nothing else I own feels warm enough (and that's for indoors).

Is there any alternative for a wuss like me?

I work for a company with a smart dress code and my office is the only one facing north and it is freeezzzing. Apparently the heating will not be switched on until 1st October. So yesterday I went down to town and bought myself a black cowl neck poncho. I've never had one before but it is so snuggly and I can wear a microfleece underneath and it still looks OK for the office.

I wish I did, India. I despair of the fleece and embroidered workwear brigade here...

Yesterday a man turned up for an interview wearing sandals and socks...

I love my thermal vests and long johns. I was always cold until I discovered long johns.

Fleeces are for gardening in or going on muddy walks.

Why not wear thermal/ T vest such as Uniqlo Heat Tec- they are great and you can even wear two at once- a cami and a T shirt style- then a cashmere jumper and a cashmere cardi over. Or if that is too much £££ go for shetland or merino woool.

Marlene I think I know what you mean. When I wore a fleece I would take less care of how I looked and what I ate. It was a state of mind with me. A little dramatic I know but that's what I felt like.

I just wore jeans, uggs and a fleece. Every day. Until one day a friend said ' they are so not you ' I woke up and out they went.

Of course like someone said for gardening or walking the dog they're fine. But not to wear all the time.
