Anti-wrinkle creams that actually work

They all make outrageous claims, but does anyone use a product that they believe really works? One that genuinely reduces fine lines, plumps out the dry-looking bits, gives them a fresh-looking complexion? I realise I'm talking about a whole range of products here, but if you feel your facial skincare products work, what do you use?

I am pulling up my chair, as I want to know as well.

I use a Shu Uemura lotion which has Hyaluronic acid in it, which holds on to moisture. It doesn't work as a moisturiser but makes skin hang on to any moisture you give it, either through water or a moisturiser. There are plenty of products on the market which contain it - there's a pureish form of it in a serum new out at Boots, or you can buy stuff cheap online.

Also, a moisturiser with peptides- eg Olay Regenerist. Peptides plump the skin. Sanctuary do one, so do several other brands, again online cheaper.

And exfoliating is the key to keeping your skin looking fresh, so either a grainy scrub every few days, or better is a daily wash or cream containing acid like salicylic or glycolic acid. I use Nutrogena Pink Grapefruit scrub as my skin is quite oily, but again googling facewashes or creams with either of those two acids will throw up plenty. You can use a night cream with an acid in.

Retinol is supposed to work wonders too, but haven't tried it myself.

Also oils massaged into face, I use Neal's Yard Rose Facial Oil after my Shu Uemura lotion at night and the combo seems to make me look awakeish in the morning. Can't afford another bottle at £25 so have ordered pure rosehip oil from Amazon for four quid, hoping it should do the trick.

Girls i'm sorry to say nothing in a jar will reduce fine lines or wrinkles the only thing that will is surgery or fillers :-( ... however...most will (if you listen to the adverts carefully) say.. will reduce the APPEARANCE of fine lines etc...

As we get older we lose our skins elasticity and have to work harder to to re-hydrate it...here are a few tips that will help..

1, drink plenty of water, this will clear out the system and give a clearer complexion.
2, gentle exfoliating pads to remove all dead skin cells
3, any moisturiser for daily use (they all pretty much so the same thing)
4, and the best thing for your face and body... belive it or not is Extra virgin olive oil and virgin coconut oil ...both also fantastic for a hair treatment.!!

When my lad was about 4 ( now nearly 13) we were looking through the Avon book that dropped on the mat...asking what everything was... he pointed to a pot of cream and told him it was anti wrinkle cream...gets rid of wrinkles... apparently

On s shopping trip to tesco that afternoon he was being nosey with what a lady had stacked the runner on the tills... Looking at her closely and looking at a "pot" asked me if that was anti - wrinkle cream.. told him yes... he looked at her again and told me and the whole queue very loudly not to bother buying it as you can see it doesnt work!! ...priceless innocence of a child... but he is right!! They dont....keep drinking the water, and slapping on the olive oil / coconut oil adn your skin will be as soft as the day it was born

I swear by a good exfoliation session at least twice a week, because wrinkles look worse when your skin is dead on the surface. (I use origins modern friction, which is brilliant) After that I use either a hydralonic acid product or a facial oil, with a heavy cream on top at night (nivea Q10 night cream)

It works for me. I also think pigmentation issues make wrinkles more noticeable, so I have the odd course of caudalie's brightening serum, which is amazing. It's about 30 quid, but I'd pay double for the effects it has on dark patches and overall radiance.(it was a Lisa Eldridge recc)
