I am thinking of having Fillers and Botox, after filler is injected, what does skin feel like to the touch?

Firm, hard ,soft?

How painful are injections in the lip area?

If you know anything via personal experience via famy/friends etc I would be grateful to know.

Thank you in advance. :)

Hello,

I regularly have fillers in the lines between my nose and the corners of my mouth (nasolabial folds)

For a couple of days, the whole area feels swollen and a bit sore but afterwards just feels normal.

Can't comment on Botox though.

I definitely recommend it though - went through agonies of feminist angst beforehand, haven't looked back since Smile

p.s. I apply EMLA cream about an hour before my appointment, numbs the area really well (just make sure you travel under darkness though - looks a bugger when its on!)

Charliefox · 18/09/2012 18:33

It feels like normal skin! I've had botox in my forehead and there's nothing to feel, so that's just normal and it doesn't hurt. I'd put it on par with plucking your eyebrows - a bit of a pinch at worse. I've also had fillers in my nose to mouth lines. That hurt a bit but I held ice on it for ages beforehand and had numbing cream on. It hurt but was bearable. Not had lips done (and never ever would - have you SEEN some of the pics?!!!) but I hear that it hurts quite a bit. I can feel the filler like a ridge but it doesn't feel wierd particularly. If you live nearby, I'd gladly let you have a look! I'm in Cheshire.

Thank you both :) I am in Brum, Fox. Thanks for the kind offer though :)

I did have a consultation and was quoted £430 for tear trough. £236 for lips and £236 for nose.

He uses a filler beginning with T. Cannot recall name and said it lasts for 9 montbs.

How long dies your Botox/fillets last?

About 7-9 months, but I smoke which reduces the 'lifespan' quite dramatically and probably caused the problem in the first place, but let's not dwell on that, eh?

I have Perlane which is one of then more long lasting ones. I have found that the they become more long lasting the more I have - i.e. the more recent ones have lasted longer than the first ones I had. Can't really explain it though.

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 18:56

Also was told at consultation that the more one has the less one needs.

Good times!

Nothing can really be done for upper eye sagging though, surgery is only way.

I've also had some surgery - it felt like the most massive big deal in the whole wide world at the time, but now its done I wonder why I made so much of a fuss about it.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat (well, not the same thing because I'm very happy with the results). If you can afford to, just do it.

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 19:05

I have found a wonderful surgeon too. thanks cake.

Is the tear trough just under the eye? Where the black rings are? The bit that gets a bit hollow with age in some people? Do they inject that with fillers? Interesting indeed.

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 22:16

Yes that is correct, lurking. My consultant will also inject in the cheek. It looks flat and people just notice ypu look fresher. Nobody can ever tell. Bruising for a while but fades. Dr Tracy Mountford uses a different method, virtually painfree and very smooth results.

Black lines, bags, hollowness, tiredness disappear. Free top up after 6 weeks.

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 22:33
