What shampoos, conditioners do you use for fine hair, really want something to give oomph.

I asked this question a while back but no replies were forthcoming. I'll be watching this one. Smile

Kerastase Volumactive spray - £££ but works really well for me. Klorane dry shampoo. BBH, Babyliss Glamour Waves curling tong, sock buns, Remington Pearl curling wand, etc. Not all at once though Grin

For shampoo and conditioner I just use anything - usually something clarifying like Aussie Mega so product doesn't build up and weigh it down. I don't think 'volumising' shampoos and conditioners work. Volumising shampoos just tangle up my hair and give it a weird texture, and volumising conditioners aren't conditioning enough.

I think it's what you put onto your hair afterwards and how you style it that can add volume. And not letting it grow too long.

I swear by Moroccan Oil to get out tangles, and doesn't leave me feeling greasy. I was just wondering if there are better alternatives than the LOreal ones I use.
I couldn't get on with Keratase when I tried it. I think I am a strange fine haired person as my hair is much more manageable below shoulder length, and requires less styling just putting it up in a pony tail instead

That's funny Lovewearing, my hair is more manageable and even feels thicker when it's below shoulder length! It's when it gets past shoulder blades on my back that it starts to look straggly again. I also love Moroccan Oil :)

I think when it's short you have to style it really well for it to look good and not so flat against your head iyswim. When it's longer it has more natural movement, and is less damaged as needs less styling.

Ojon do a good range for fine hair. It's expensive, but very good. I use the shampoo and styling spray. Got mine a bit cheaper at a cosmetics outlet place.

Charliefox · 18/09/2012 18:38

I also use the XXL Bastise dry shampoo. It makes your hair feel like shit but it gives more oomph than anything else I've ever used.

V05 .... Oomph! It's a powder I use it when I go out its fab.

Sebastian light or volume conditioner makes a difference to my hair - anything else weighs it down. I can really tell when I try to style it after using a cheaper alternative that I can't get any volume.
Expensive - but I picked some up in TK Maxx last month.

Lee Stafford - I hate my hair the day it's washed solution is what I use to style it - it's an accquired taste thing, some love this, some don't.

I used to use Hang Straight by Aveda but it's been discontinued...so whilst looking for the replacement (smooth infusions) I found Invati - anyone tried it????

Setting lotion.
Hair powder or dry shampoo in roots.
BBH.
Elnett hairspray.

DonaAna · 18/09/2012 21:29

Wella does some amazing products - the dirt-cheap red and white Pro Series bottles sold in supermarkets, their medium hold hairspray and heat protection mousse. They have won lots of prizes - and my hairdresser approves.

Blowdry your hair holding your head upside down - gravity is your friend Wink.

MarshaBrady · 18/09/2012 21:34

I have fine hair, although quite a bit of it. And use Aveda Pure Abundance.

My main problem is tangling so it's good for that and the bounce.

Girls, what do you do with the setting lotion, like for perms? do you just put it in your hair before blowdry.
