Got a school reunion in 10 days and am crapping it. Can someone pimp me, fast?

I'm 41, 5'7", size 14 jeans if they've got a bit of stretch in, 16-18 top due to big (and quite good!) knockers.
Decent facial bone structure, highlighted shoulder length hair (needs a cut) and I think I wash up fairly well.

But, I'm SO dowdy these days! With v young children I live in (stained) jeans, fatface tops and a quilted coat. That's it really. And I've got a school reunion and most of my peers from school are v v thin, rich and glam! Think Made In Chelsea types!

For the love of God help me! I'm booked for more Botox tomorrow, eyes and brow, and thought about a good tan before too. What else can I do? What shall I wear?
Healthy budget but clueless!

(and noone tell me to "just go natural, be yourself" etc. These women are seriously groomed!)

Help!

Poor tim, being flattened Grin

Seriously, sounds great. Hope stuff fits and you like it - only downside with online ordering is that most stuff needs returning (well, it does with my anyway).

FairPhyllis · 24/09/2012 01:36

OP, you're hysterical! You have to come back once you've been and give us a blow-by-blow account of the weekend.

googietheegg · 24/09/2012 07:14

Is anyone else a little bit in luff with bluegingham? Blush

ancienthistrionics · 24/09/2012 12:54

blue, you said your budget was ok, so if you fancy updating the stripy look, I love Sonia Rykiel, have had bits of her knitwear over the years and still love it, possibly www.my-wardrobe.com/sonia-by-sonia-rykiel/multicoloured-striped-jumper-979288

Bluegingham · 25/09/2012 08:57

ancienthistrionics the colours in that jumper are lovely but despite my humongous weight loss Grin horizontal stripes are for another incarnation, as a less chunky woman!

AgathaFusty · 27/09/2012 12:46

Fantastic weight loss!!

onyx72 · 27/09/2012 13:03

I am enjoying this thread! Please send photos! And have a fab time!!

SaraBellumHertz · 27/09/2012 13:53

Colour - I go for grey (on short square nails) for something a little more fashion forward. But dark red is always good.

French always looks cheap not so good

AgathaFusty · 27/09/2012 19:07

What colour did you get?

Northumberlandlass · 27/09/2012 20:55

Wow Blue you've done amazingly well with the weight loss! That's fantastic.

So...when's the 'do' are we going to get pics of each outfit, hair do, nails & tan?

I hope you really enjoy yourself, knock 'em dead Smile

Bluegingham · 28/09/2012 08:42

I went for plum/purple on my toes and lilac on my fingers. Got new contact lenses so glasses are in the (borrowed Mulberry) handbag for the weekend. Got false individual lashes, they look amazing and the tan is settling from a deep Floella Benjamin to a mid-winter Katie Price. Given that my natural skin tone is pale blue it's a big change.

Another TWO pounds today!!!! Low carbing has upset my tum a bit, which in turn means I've lost a bit more than I think I would have, but it's now TEN pounds since last Friday!!!! I weighed myself on day1 of my period which is probably my fattest day, but in any even it's still 10 pounds! Grin
And I couldn't have done that without you lot!!!

Hairdresser coming at 9.30 for trim and good blow dry, and my train is at lunchtime. Would love to share some pics but don't want to out myself! I could wear a mask maybe? Grin

I have been following this thread with interest -blue bet you are going to look amazing!!! Would love to see some piccies.

I also wanted to give you a heads up on the weight loss not to make you despondent but just a little warning so you don't get fed up next week! When you low carb your body uses up the remaining carbs first then it resorts to your glycogen which is stored carbs in your liver - this can weigh 5-7 lbs. your body then starts burning stored fat for energy. What will happen is that when and if you start eating carbs again you will gain the glycogen back first which will of course make you heavier so don't think you have put on weight you haven't however it is more likely you have lost 3-5 lbs of fat and 5-7lbs of glycogen rather than 10lbs of fat. However 3-5lbs of fat in one week is still bloody amazing!!! Really hope I haven't rained on your parade...just wanted to forewarn you so you don't get fed up and think you have gained weight if you eat carbs.....

Have a fab weekend and hope you bowl everyone over :)

AgathaFusty · 28/09/2012 09:23

Blue this book is great for following a low carb diet/way of living.

Hope you enjoy the weekend.

Spamspamspam · 28/09/2012 09:25

And their cook book is fab - keeps me and dh on the straight and narrow without getting bored of the same old food!

DinosaursOnASpaceship · 28/09/2012 09:44

Just a quick thought about the eyelash extention things, I had them for a wedding and after having them on 24 hours it seemed I was allergic to them. Agony and huge red swollen eyes. Had to coat them in baby oil and ease them off. It unfortunately removed most of my normal eyelashes too. So I would take some baby oil and a set of stick on lashes with me if I was you. Have fun!

AgathaFusty · 28/09/2012 10:29

Ooh Dinosaurs that sounds nasty. I read something recently about some people reacting to the glue they use - put me off although they do look good.

DinosaursOnASpaceship · 28/09/2012 10:35

I was stupid and had then done again after the first time. Somewhere different as I thought the woman at the first place must have put them on wrong. She hadnt. I cried. Never again!

mrsmoodypants · 28/09/2012 11:10

Have a fabulous weekend - would love to see shots of every outfit you have got. Do you think your school mates would be mnetters? If not just blur your face and post some pictures.

Have fun! (Would love to be a fly on the wall Grin)

Bluegingham · 28/09/2012 23:48

Oh dear I'm drunkity drrunk! All looking good tho! Am sitting in ladies about to roll the Spanx back on. There's a double gusset which you're meant to be able to wee through but from where I'm looking that's only if you have a penis!

Holding my own though!
