Help with skin - Miss Foodie!

Having tried rosehip oil earlier this year, and thinking it was making my skin worse, I decided to try again - and it was working.

I have really dry skin, that has large pores, and despite being 42, I had not even fine lines - until the last week.

I'd been using coconut oil (fushi) for OCM, and then rosehip or sweet almond oil for moisturising.

I then bought some castor oil, and mixed it with sweet almond oil (20/80) for OCM. My face felt really tight after using this, but I persevered, and also rubbed castor oil into my eyelashes at night.

My skin is now really flaky, really - with little flakes all over. I've also now bought some avocado oil, which feels wonderful, but the dryness is bugging me. Worse, I now have fine lines, around the eyes.

This week I've also been pre-menstrual, so added to the dryness I have spots :(

I'm in a bit of a state, and don't know whether to persevere with the castor oil, or just revert to the coconut oil.

Any advice from any seasoned oil fans? The oils I have are: coconut, sweet almond, rosehip, avocado & castor.

Also is there an alternative oil (such as coconut maybe?) that I can rub into my eyelashes, as I'm convinced the castor oil is drying?

sorry, just seen this!
it sounds like the castor oil has upset it all, esp since you were having no issues with coconut and/or rosehip oils?
why not stick to coconut for cleansing, and rosehip at night, and get a cream for day? are you only using oil then? you should add something else, either a water based serum or a day cream.
Any chance you can get some samples? don't know what your skin is like, but try a day cream from Antipodes, Aesop or Trilogy maybe?
If you want something very simple, A'Kin do an unscented cream which is nice?
All of these creams you can use round your eyes btw.
If you need a serum to apply before your cream, Melvita Extraordinary Water in Rose is nice and not pricey (no idea what your budget is?)
