Sorry if tmi, I'm warning you now Blush decided in a moment of madness to shave my "lady garden" is that too mn and have the shaving rash from hell. Do I need to shave every day to keep it non itchy? Have tried aloe Vera gel to calm rash but would anything else work?
Had visions if me looking like a svelte smooth goddess and have ended up looking like a bloody plucked rabbit Grin

Ahem....leave, exfoiliate, moisturise!

notMarlene · 17/09/2012 17:43

Womens roll on deodorant works miracles, it's designed for freshly shaved and irritated skin so it's really soothing. Stops the itch quick smart.

Theres a knack to it which I still haven't perfected apparently.

May I suggest a decent trimmer or some hair removal cream??

notMarlene · 17/09/2012 18:01

IME it's best to take everything off as best you can with a trimmer or small scissors then shave with conditioner or oil and a mens razor with the hot shower running over the area.

Shave with the direction of the hair rather than against it, that's more than adequate foe the labia but on the mons pubis you need to re-apply conditioner / oil, gently stretch the skin and shave against the direction of the hair growth. Apply roll on deodorant as soon as your skin is dry and voila silky smooth fanjo.

No need for exfoliation (which can rip at the follicles and cause problems) if you use deodorant straight after shaving.

BonkeyMollocks · 17/09/2012 18:03

Will be trying it that way thanks Marlene

The exfoiliating is for when the hair starts to grow back to avoid the ingrown bastards!

Never heard of the deodorant trick!

notMarlene · 17/09/2012 18:07

Na, honest, skip the exfoliation and go with deodorant (not on the pink bits) it's formulated for it, honest. I do know it sounds nuts Wink. But, I've not had a single ingrowing hair since I started and if I do shave a bit carelessly it stops any itching in it's tracks. Never hear about women having shaving rash / itching / ingrowing hairs in their under arms and there's a reason...

SuperB0F · 17/09/2012 18:13

Tendskin, from large Boots stores, or via amazon is really great for healing shaving rash. It works miracles.

scentednappyhag · 17/09/2012 18:17

Shock roll on deodorant? Really?

GobblersKnob · 17/09/2012 18:19

I get shaving rash, itching and ingrowing hairs in my armpits and use roll-on Confused Based on that there is no bloody way I would shave my nethers, me and hair removal do not really get on.

notMarlene · 17/09/2012 18:33

By heck Gobblers, best not then! Are you using something slippy and a mens razor to shave with? Womens ones are utter shite IMHO, blunt in not time and totally overpriced too. Can't beat a mach3.

InVeryveryBadTaste · 17/09/2012 20:51

Notmarlene - think you qualify for professor of ladygarden hair removal Grin

Off to try with new scarily sharp razor and Pantene conditioner. Have no roll-on but will buy tmw. May print out your instructions and pin them on the bathroom wall Grin
