Facial products for red skin - please help!

I'm prone to always being red...if I'm embarrassed, hot, drinking alcohol, been in the wind, just sitting still etc etc - I get very red cheeks and often a flush on my chest too.

Do any of you beauty gurus have some products you can recommend to help please? Cleanser, moisturer or whatever. I would prefer to find things that can help my skin, rather than just mask the issue with make up/corrector...is that possible?

I'm happy to fork out for the right kit, so please give me your recommendations - I'm fed up of always being red Blush

TIA

I get this sometimes (think in my case it is linked to lack of sleep) and use Avene products. You can get them in Boots.

The Aloe range from The Body Shop - fantastic soothing, calming miracle in a jar.

Also Bisque concealor from Bare Minerals - yellow based so knocks out the redness. Magic stuff, been using it about a year and a half and it has transformed the way I feel about my skin.

For emergencies, clinique do a product in a slim green tube, called redness correction or something - it's a sheer green tint with spf and calms everything down. A million times better than the hideous No.7 version.

You may have symtoms of rosacea, I suffer from it too. My triggers are all that you mentioned above, it can be truly upsetting especially if you're out socialising.
Depressingly the triggers to avoid are booze and spicy food and not overheating in my case . Also anxiety can set me off big time!

Darphin also do a great range for red sensitive skin called Intral which is superb but expensive.

Thank you for all the suggestions - I've got some shopping to do now!

Agree, Darphin is great (I like their creamy cleanser esp)

Have a search for the previous rosacea threads on here, there was much exchanging of recommendations, wailing & gnashing of teeth etc.

I have rosacea and I find Clinique's soothing anti-redness cleanser excellent. But everybody reacts to different things so you might have to kiss a few frogs before you find products that work for you - eg I used the Body Shop's Aloe mask the other day and I think it gave me a bit of a reaction, though will try again to double-check. Have had no reaction to the cleanser or night cream in the same range.

Avene for me too. Its expensive but cant be beaten. I use the Very Gentle Cleanser and the Anti Redness or Skin Calming Cream when I have a flare up which is always down to stress with me.

Another recommendation for Darphin Intral. I love everything apart from the toner.

My triggers are the same. Also exercise -I've had concerned strangers approach me in the gym due to my scary beetroot face! I don't have rosacea yet but my father does so I keep an eye out for symptoms that would need medicating.

Spicy yes I too turn a rather angry shade of puce when I exercise; really lovely to look at Grin. Cooking in a hot kitchen is guaranteed to make me looked flamed once I've sat down as well!

I use dermalogica ultra calming products. Nothing like them for my skin. You can get a box of the trial sizes as it is expensive to buy full size and find you don't get on with them.
