I know what I want, I know what will happen...how do YOU prevent it?

I've just got some bargainous LFA sheepskin boots, just below the knee length. The kind that lace all the way up with a thick cotton strip. I want to wear them with leggings or skinny jeans.

Now, over the last 30 years (!) whenever I've worn anything tucked into any boots, the following always happens:

The slow descent of the jeans down towards the knees Sad The crotch of leggings appearing mid-thigh is so not a good look.

Please, please tell me how to keep the waistband at my waist and still be able to wear leggings/jeans with boots!

Belt?

Mandy2003 · 15/09/2012 19:04

No, I've tried a belt (pretty hard with leggings too) but the same inevitable descent happens.

i think you need to change the way you tuck in trousers, do you pull them down and then fased the boots? It could be you aren't allowing enough movement material at the thigh/knee and as the bottom then can't ride up (as trapped in footwear) the only option is for hte top to be pulled downwards by the movement. Try wearing with a little 'give' material - do'nt pull htem tight, and wear a good belt.

Also try not doing your boots up quite so tightly, and make sure you are wearing the correct sized clothes, are you wearing jeans slightly looser? (Also be best if your jeans/leggings sit on your waist, not on your hip, that way your hips will hold them up a bit more.)

Is it the boots pulling them down?

DontmindifIdo · 15/09/2012 19:11

Fased? sorry fasten!

Agree with DontmindifIdo that you should leave some "give" in the fabric of your trousers/leggings and leave them say at ankle length or just above rather than pulled right down into your socks.

Ah, thanks *DontmindifIdo" - I have no hips, compared to the size of my belly. Always been the same since I was a kid. In the waist I'm a size 16 or greater, but even in Primark sizing I wear smaller leggings so they fit snugly on hips. When I've worn looser fit with boots they've just wrinkled unpleasantly on the knees/thighs.

I haven't been pulling them down inside the boots, no, just letting them sit natural. I have the same problem with falling tights too (don't wear them any more!)

*PooPooOnMars" - yes, it is the boots pulling them down, and I feel the motion of the sheepskin linings on my new boots will just be a nightmare.
