Fly London Boots - Any good?

I clicked on a link on S&B earlier and saw a pair of long boots that I thought might just go with casual dresses / skinny jeans (I just cant do the ankle boot thing I look ridiculous). I cant find them now but I am sure that they were Fly boots. They didnt seem too expensive so are they any good? Comfy? Likely to last a winter or two? Mum boots?
I really want do need a new pair of long boots this winter.
Thank you!

I have these in three colours. The oldest two are approachig their 8th winter and still going strong.

BikeRunSki, I have those in two colours - I love them.

I'm tempted to get another pair but I don't really need them

I have Mes and Metis ones both in dark brown. I have very short calves so their midcalf boots are perfect for me as knee length boots. I have them over 10 years I think and still going strong

SomethingOnce · 12/09/2012 12:14

I have a pair of Mistry (knee highs) in the back of my wardrobe.

They looked good on and were no problem to reheel when they needed it, but the long zip went after a season and I was told they were either impossible or prohibitively expensive to repair.

Fly customer services did not reply to my emails, or my letter.

I'd think very hard before buying Fly again.

bikerunski-I had those in black and brown suede. So comfy. I wonder if they are still under the stairs...

Thanks for the replies. Ok so very mixed reaction to fly boots then. I definitely need waterproof (don't like being cold and wet), something easy to walk in for school run/toddler chasing. Not too unfeminine but has to be practical at the same time.

So there are nicer boots out there - where should I try?

These are waterproof and you can get 20% off with the code BEYOURS12.

Shelley look on the Dr Marten website, you can get all types now.

I'd try some on if I were you. I love the DMs that BikeRunSki linked too, but they just don't fit me - too wide at the heel and they slip as I'm walking. In fact, I've tried on a few DM boots in the last few years and they're all the same.

shelley72 · 13/09/2012 07:57

thank you, will have a trip into town tomorrow and see if anywhere stocks the fly boot. i do also like those DMs and had a look on their website there are some lovely boots there too.
dexter73 i do have a pair of black riding boots very similar to those clarks ones already.
just feel a bit lost with everything at the moment - big birthday crisis coming on i think Smile

I've got those DMs in the link. Perfect for me, as I have very narrow feet. I find them a bit slippy under-sole though. Does anyone else?

Nagoo · 13/09/2012 10:00

I have defected to Merrell boots now, I want warm dry feet.

They are very very warm and miraculously dry. Fly leak like a bitch. I have two pairs which I do like, but I won't wear them if it is raining.
