Thanks Jam...me too, have way too many bretons, and they absolutely do not have their own dedicate draw Blush

I don't think the jacket will sit favorably with navy stripes so it may help to wean off them Grin

EdMcDunnough · 11/09/2012 09:28

I can't even wear mine for a few months. Waiting to be able to do it up!!!

It's got lovely lining too - that is my favourite bit.

seabuckthorn · 11/09/2012 12:59

I won't be able to do mine up either ed I don't tend to do my jackets up anyhow. Still at least I would like the option!

SoSoMum · 11/09/2012 18:19

Hi - just joined and noticed you were talking about tweed jackets. I've just purchased this one www.hm.com/gb/product/01003?article=01003-G and this is a grey tweed but quite nice. I sized up to a 12 and I think this one would work quite well with a breton as it's quite neutral due to the flat grey shade. If you're not banking on the discount codes - I would definitely try on in store as you need to check the bust darts stitching. I tried on 4 in total before I found one I was happy with ... or maybe I was just extra picky.

JamInMyWellies · 12/09/2012 19:42

Tweed JKT update sent DH shopping this afternoon he is in possession of the Zara one in a different colour, the H&M one is on order so will see which one is better and report back.

GobblersKnob · 12/09/2012 20:05

Very different shape, but I got this one from H&M for £17 delivered with various codes and it is really really nice, very flattering.

stepawayfromthebretons · 12/09/2012 20:31

Jam awaiting an in depth comparison with baited breath Grin

My hm one has been dispatched but not trackable yet with courier...hopeful for Friday though!

seabuckthorn · 12/09/2012 20:41

I'm Impatiently waiting my order too stepaway I want to track it darn it!

JamInMyWellies · 12/09/2012 22:57

Dh just got in and the Zara one is lush. But my stupid shoulders mean a med is too small. Sad. He said the assistant said they are flying out if the shop the min they come in. So this means tom I need to phone several other Zara's and get them to put a L aside if they have one.

OP posts:
stepawayfromthebretons · 14/09/2012 08:48

Jam did you manage to find it in a L? The Zara one sounds great...going to try and get to one on the weekend to have a look.

My HM one is not even trackable yet but they say it has been dispatched. So annoying as I really wanted it for this weekend, we are going to Winsor tomorrow and it would have been perfect Sad

Have to say their delivery is pretty slow considering I had to pay.

JamInMyWellies · 14/09/2012 10:05

Stepawayfromthebreton I know H&M delivery is pants still not received it yet.

But I have the Zara one in my possession made youngest DS miss his music class so I could drive to the hell that is Lakeside and pick it up. I lurve it very nice. Will be great when the cooler mornings set in proper.

OP posts:
seabuckthorn · 14/09/2012 14:49

Zara one does sound nice jam just not the right colour.
I agree their delivery is really pants considering you pay for it! Looks like I won't get mine until tomorrow at the earlier. More likely Monday Sad

stepawayfromthebretons · 17/09/2012 14:31

It finally arrived!!

Shirley thanks for the recommendation as it is fab! Def looks more expensive than it is and looks lovely on, cut is nice and love the subtle mustard flecks in the fabric, and the elbow patches are a nice touch too.

It is not thick fabric but then would have to pay at least double for that. I will wear loads this autumn. Nice length too, not too long or short (am 5'6").

Was in Windsor H&M on Sat and looked all over for it but no where to be seen. Was getting a bit worried as some H&M blazers look a bit crap but thrilled with this.

Anyone else got theirs yet?

ShirleySharpeyes · 17/09/2012 14:44

Oh phew! I am so pleased you like it...the weight of responsibility has been heavy here since recommending it, it's the first thing I have dared recommend in the S&B section...I love mine and know I will wear it lots for work.
Just waiting for both SeaBuckthorns and Jams verdict now!!

ToastedTeacakes · 17/09/2012 16:00

Always find this type of jacket troublesome considering British weather. I have two, a lovely old tweed blazer from Toast and a shirt Zara blazer from last season...have been able to wear both a grand total of 3 times since purchasing because the weather is either too warm or too cold and rainy. T'is a crap climate for the casual jacket methinks, however much I long to wear them.

What I want is a proper autumn this year so that I can finally put them on, along with a nice wool hat, tights and brogues. We shall see.

Also, do you guys ever wear this kind of jacket with skirts? Always see them paired with pants, so interested in alternatives.

ToastedTeacakes · 17/09/2012 16:00

short zara blazer.

seabuckthorn · 17/09/2012 17:23

Mine arrived! Thanks so much shirley
I love it! Lovely fit and a really nice quality.
I'm absolutely chuffed Grin

Only thing I don't like are buttons but I am very fussy and will probably replace with wooden ones.
I'm glad I got the 12 I think the 10 would have been too fitted

EdMcDunnough · 17/09/2012 17:28

I nearly wore mine today, with a longish gathered skirt (hard to explain, I normally don't do skirts) and a longish cardi which went down below the jacket iyswim.

It looked really nice I think, but I chickened out as it really shows off my bump, and I prefer to wear a long coat I have, I don't really feel attractive being very pregnant Smile

Glad people liked theirs. I want to get the Zara one now!!

(ps know what you mean about the buttons, person who said that!)

Sorry weird double post

EdMcDunnough · 17/09/2012 17:34

Smile I hate it when I do that!

JamInMyWellies · 17/09/2012 17:41

Mine also arrived today. I do like but I think as I finally got the Zara one I will return it but considering I o only paid 28 for it, tis pretty good quality.

oooh, I tried that Zara jacket on - as did mate 1 (size 12) and mate 2 (size 8, if that). THE ZARA JACKET DOES NOT FIT HUMAN WOMAN, we discovered.

Tiny tiny armholes (no chance of jersey beneath, let alone bones in arm), waistline parallel with nipples. We are all quite short, too.

However, the jersey blazer with slim matt satin lapels is a grab at 49.99 and would fit and flatter most people.
