Come and judge my new shoes

After hearing on s&b that knee boots are no longer the thing, i Just trekked around town for 2hrs chanting "I will not buy mum boots".

Problem is, I am quite short and my legs are not overly skinny. So all the ankle boots made me look really dumpy.

So I bought these.

Have I done bad? (please view all the pics, as I think the first one isn't great)

They are lovely like brouges but without laces! Grin

TheBirdsTheBirds · 06/09/2012 15:08

Why are they called flats?? That's bizarre.

RikersBeard · 06/09/2012 15:11

Yay somebody else liked them :o
Last time I posted a pair of my shoes, I think the word vile was used.......

I don't know why they are called flats. They are definitely not flat. They are quite comfy though.

I like them. And their little heel. And their brogueishness. Enjoy :D

Mumelie · 06/09/2012 16:01

I like them, a lot!

HipHopOpotomus · 06/09/2012 16:09

Aren't they shoe/boots?

Sorry I don't like them - like ankle boots but without the "style"

AlwaysOneMissing · 06/09/2012 17:45

Erm... I'm trying not to use the word vile Grin

Sorry, I don't really like them. But it seems I'm in the minority, so feel free to ignore!

WipsGlitter · 06/09/2012 17:46

Hate them. Sorry. Unstylish and mumsy.

BunnyLebowski · 06/09/2012 17:49

It's a no from me too. Clumpy and mannish.

But then I think ankle boots in general are frumpy and unstylish. It's like 1994 all over again on S+B at the minute.

Don't even start me on brogues.

thestringcheesemassacre · 06/09/2012 17:50

It's a no from me sorry.

AWomanCalledHorse · 06/09/2012 17:53

No from me.
They look like mutant clogs.

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 06/09/2012 18:07

I'm afraid it's a no from me as well.

GoodHeavensNo · 06/09/2012 18:29

I think they're ok. Nothing special, but not offensive. If they suit you that's all that matters.

I have odd fashion sense and 1994 - 1997 is probably my favourite fashion era Grin

TheBirdsTheBirds · 06/09/2012 18:34

I really don't like the logo on them but if they suit you then they're not too bad.

I can't stand the 90s revival - i'm too young for a fashion era I lived through to have come round again!

It's all so frumpy.

NotMostPeople · 06/09/2012 18:48

Not my sort of thing they're a bit on the fence, neither one thing or the other.

crazybutterflylady · 06/09/2012 20:06

With the right clothes they'd look fab! It's definitely a trend thing. I can understand people saying they're mumsy, but those sort of shoes are all over Grazia etc at the moment so you're obviously just bang on trend OP :D

RikersBeard · 06/09/2012 20:45

Arf at mutant clogs :o

Well at least they are not universally hated, polarising I can live with.
Anyway, they are from Schuh so I have yonks to return them if I change my mind. So I can try them on with all my new clothes that I haven't bought yet

PippiL · 06/09/2012 21:08

What do you do with your sock?!

PippiL · 06/09/2012 21:10

Socks plural, not just the one. That would be weird.

If the model is struggling to look good in these with skinnies, then they might be hard for the rest of us to wear.

RikersBeard · 06/09/2012 21:12

Erm.....trainer socks? Little fold over ones? Tights?

Hadnt thought that far ahead

OP posts:
GobblersKnob · 06/09/2012 21:20

I am not keen, but as long as you love them all is good with the world.

You saying 'Have I done bad?' makes me want to cuddle you Grin

Enjoy your footwear.
