How to spend my birthday money to make me feel a bit more human?

DD2 is 11 weeks. I am size 14-16 from 10-12 and can't get into anything I used to wear but have since got a few bits to keep me going for now. the weight gets me down as I don't carry it well, I also have a bad back and feel my posture makes me look even worse.

DH was going to buy me some MBTs as I really want to get soemthing I can wear to walk DD1 to school in then go and exercise in for half an hour after (probably more a brisk walk rather than running). I can't find MBTs to try as they have gone into administration and am wobbling about that. Or should I just get good ballet pumps/sensible shoes I can wear all the time to just walk to groups, the shops etc? Or just trainers? Or then I think such a lot of money maybe just decent winter boots?

Then I'd like a really warm winter coat as my primark faithful non puffy puffer has fallen apart-I bought it a few years ago and it has lasted well for primark, now I want a good quality one.

Decisions! I need something to cheer me up and motivate me to start losing this weight, its been a tough few months and I haven't had time to make myself look nice really and have felt so rubbish about the weight that I havent wanted to bother.

It's still v early days, you know that. I'd get a perfume :) Are you ok otherwise, is it just the weight?

Thanks yes I am ok, have always been stressy over weight and appearance stuff so I think doing something about it would cheer me up(long hard summer hols with DD1 who has SN)

And the coat I need anyway as not got a warm one.

Think I am unlucky to have friends who drop baby weight immediately!

get nice smart trainers that you can walk fast in. they will give you an incentive to exercise. Not ballet pumps as you need proper arch support after having a baby. coat can come a bit later when your shape settles.

Yes oranges you are right I think. The trainers I tried on today were very expensive but horrible looking, and made me feel frumpy just trying them on! Any ideas for nice trainers? trainer shoes maybe or would they notbe very supportive?

Not hugely trendy, but at that post baby stage, I found the Clarkes light weight sports shoes really good.

Ones like this: www.clarks.co.uk/p/20346992

Thank you that probably is the best plan of action- I definately need something supportive and comfortable and with the rest I could get some ballet pumps too or something else.

I felt like that after having my first, having gone from always being naturally very slim to the biggest I've ever been, and for the first time in my life the weight didn't drop off. I ended up giving into the fact that I was that size for the moment and bought myself some flattering jeans and tops in the correct size. I then walked everywhere! Sainsburys do really nice, flattering coats, mbut not too expensive.
