Help me spend £500 on some lovely, classic clothes please!

Since having my second baby I've gone from a size 10 with a wardrobe containing lots of lovely pre-baby classic clothes (Joseph, LK Bennett, Hobbs, lots of cashmere).

A year later, I'm still a size 12(and quite little, 5 foot 3), with a truely mummy tummy and I am resigning myself to the fact that this could be a long term situation! Although some of my old clothes fit, they just don't look good and I feel like a dumpling in them. Last year I bought lots of casual (and cheap) clothes for day to day wear but I'd now like to build up more classic, classy clothes that make me feel great.

I'm not quite sure what will suit me now, but that sorts of clothes I like are shortish dresses/tunics with boots and quirky tights, lovely knitwear, pencil skirts and dresses, cigarette trousers, silk tops etc. I love to wear heels but don't get the chance very often. I don't like loud patterns or colours, but love interesting fabrics such as lacework and tweed. My colouring is light brown hair and blue eyes but quite olive skin and I like to wear grey, cream, navy, purple, cerise and emerald.

Any ideas would be really welcome. Have a £500 budget and would love 5-10 lovely, classic pieces that I can wear for years to come.

Thanks :)

What sort of shape are you OP? Apple, pear, what about your leggs? Are you tall, shortsh? What items do you already have and still like wearing are you working around? Do you have a coat that you still like?
We can sort this out Smile

I would hold off, you will probably go back down to your natural weight. Are you planning on having more dc? It took me longer with dd2 to get back to my normal size.

Anyway if you are determined to buy clothes I would try GAp for the cigarette trousers, Jigsaw for a nice skirt.

I don't want to to this. I think you will lose more weight. Just buy nice shoes and wait another six months.

I was shopping with my dm in Florida way back when the pound was strong against the dollar and she advised me to up a size. Now I have loads of size ten really nice clothes, but I got small again after dc3, and the clothes are too big.
Sorry I haven't helped you.
