They have to do the jumble sale thing because a lot of the brands they sell don't want it to be known they're lurking in there rather than the swanko shop up the road.
When the buyers were visiting the Clappers one, they explained that this and finished smugly 'But people do so love a rummage'. I gave them the hooded look 'up to a point.'
Then I urged the buyers to buy in some decent black trousers. They said 'actually, we hardly ever can - these are the one thing that's hard to find in overstock.' Ie if trousers are any good, they won't be in the discount rail. But, and this is a big butt (geddit), when they buy in the velvet fuschia loons, they insist on getting some of the slim black pants as part of the batch. So you can find them, if only rarely.
But it's open season on everything else, which is good news. I won't buy 7FAM or Paige anywhere else.
I'm not a shop's easiest customer, me. I loathe the dark art known as merchandising - I don't like things being bigged up and lit exquisitely in the shop only to get home and hit the inevitable downer that it only looked ok with professional styling. So TK, where if it looks good in strip neon, you can guarantee it looks better in the real world, suits me fine.
You may correctly surmise that I have been around a lot of stylists and snappers in my time.
