got an appointment at 9am with a new hairdresser (old one on mat leave). I have thick blonde curly hair and need to lose a couple of inches, this could be time for a slightly new look (always go for the same look as curls are too hard to do much with).... am tempted by a long side fringe, old hairdresser wasn't keen, am thinking of asking this one what he thinks but not if they're terribly passe.

Maybe she just wasn't keen because you have curly hair and it would be hard to deal with a fringe? Or were you thinking of straightening it everyday? Could look odd if rest of your hair is really curly? Don't think side fringes will ever be passé though, thats kind of like saying trousers are passé or short hair is passé!

oi! how did you get a thingy on your e in passe?

anyway, my hair is not really all that curly in the top few cms at the roots - it gets curly about the tops of my ears then goes into ringlets by the time it reaches my shoulders.
that could have been why she wasn't keen - but i can't really have entirely the same hairstyle for my whole life Sad. But no, i'm not willing to always straighten it.

My ipad puts the accent on the e in passe automatically! Now i'm on my phone.

Sounds like a long side fringe would be fine on your hair - you might have to give it a quick blast with the hairdryer to smooth it everyday though. Hope the new hairdresser is more helpful!

new hairdresser suggested i take the front shorter himself Grin. I'm very pleased with it - will see how it is when i dry/style it myself.

thanks.

OP, you can also get a French (or other language) 'acute' accent simply by holding down the AltGr key at the same time as you type the relevant vowel.

Well, I clicked on here to read about hair and now I have discovered how to do accents. Yippee! I love MN.
