Just had a baby and in need of new wardrobe...

I've decided that I want to start again with my wardrobe, now that I am a mum of 2 under 2 some of my clothes just aren't practical anymore. I haven't been prancing around in hot pants prior to my dd2's arrival but just want a decent wardrobe that is versatile and stylish. What staple items do you think I need to buy for this season?

I reckon it depends largely on your shape as well as your lifestyle. Personally (I have a 12 week ds) I am still doing the tunic / leggings thing but I realise this is rather dull and predictable (I can't really splash out on a new wardrobe anyway.)
Also, with two dc's under 2, make sure your clothes are in colours which won't show up any stains!!

How old are you? Do you have anyone that could have a good look at you and give you an honest opinion as to what you need? An outspoken sister or friend perhaps?

Good point babysauraus! Virgil, I am 32, about 5'2", size 10/12, quite wide hips, and a bottom that I'm not overly fond of.

A line skirts may be your friend! You could maybe make them more interesting with patterned tops / tights / leggings.

Am jealous of your size 10/12-ness even if you do have a bottom you don't like!

Not sure if it would be your thing, but when I was in a Gap the other day they had good cord a-line skirts which were short-ish (ie just over the knee, not proper short iyswim) and fab loose tops - think artists smocks but more flattering which would work with them. Would look good with patterned tights (M&S also do some great woolly knitted one's for £12) and boots.
Realise none of this is very patterned but, er, maybe add some patterns with a cardie or light scarf...?
