Best Cheapest Facial Cleanser?

tryingmybest2012 · 26/08/2012 08:59

I currently use boots own make sensitive eye make up remover but do not like their cleanser in the same range. I have also tried the boots cucumber one in the same range but it gave me spots. Does anyone know of a nice low cost cleanser?
Thanks!

Wilkinson's own brand. I have ultra sensitive skin and rosacea and this is fine.

RobinSparkles · 26/08/2012 17:05

Organic coconut oil with hot water and a flannel. Recommended by another MNer.

My skin is the best it's ever been!

RobinSparkles · 26/08/2012 17:06

It's brilliant at removing your make up too.

tryingmybest2012 · 26/08/2012 18:03

How much is the Wilkinson one?

Also where do you buy the organic coconut oil from?

I will give both a go and see how I get on. I have dry, sensitive, spotty skin (lucky me not).

I've been told not to use coconut oil on my face as it's comedogenic

LaurieFairyCake · 26/08/2012 18:45

Liz Earle cleanse and polish. Get it from the Liz Earle shop on eBay, just slightly seconds packaging.

£9, half a pump a day, 100ml lasts me six months..

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/08/2012 18:46

Aveeno or Olay Regenerist wash off cleansers are both v good and both around a fiver.

lilolilmanchester · 26/08/2012 18:50

I think a decent cleanser is worth investing in... and would second LIz Earle Cleanse and polish. Lasts for ages and is fab.

scottishmummy · 26/08/2012 19:04

Liz earle, lasts forever and removes industrial strength mascara

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 26/08/2012 19:59

I second coconut oil - apparently the refined version is comedogenic but the virgin stuff is fine.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/08/2012 20:08

Liz Earle smells beyond gorgeous - but it gave me spots.

Virgil · 26/08/2012 20:09

Another vote for the coconut oil. You find it in tescos with the olive oil and it lasts for ever.

squoosh · 26/08/2012 20:09

Liz Earles's cleanser gives me spots too. I really like the Botanics cleansing balm, it's only about £6.

BurlingtonBertieFromBow · 26/08/2012 20:10

Baby lotion. It's the only thing I can use without getting spots. It takes everything off.

DrSeuss · 26/08/2012 20:14

Wilko's is £1-£1.50, can't remember exactly. Where do you buy the coconut oil and do you put it on cotton wool or straight onto skin?

Virgil · 26/08/2012 20:17

Coconut oil melts on your hands and you rub it on. I then take off with a flannel

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 26/08/2012 20:19

Simple products are a cheap alternative if you are on a budget?

tryingmybest2012 · 26/08/2012 20:26

How expensive is the coconut oil you buy? I have found one online at Sainsbury for £6.99 and a different version at Tesco for £1 something. Are they all the same?

scottishmummy · 26/08/2012 20:29

I buy coconut oil from superdrug
great for hair
cheap as chips

TerraNotSoFirma · 26/08/2012 20:46

The £6.99 one sounds like the one you want. If using for cleansing it should be organic virgin coconut oil.

Virgil · 26/08/2012 20:51

The 6.99 one. But it will last you six months since you only need a pea sized blob

ElizaDoMore · 26/08/2012 20:52

There's a Liz Earle-style cleanse & polish at Asda. Think it's by N Spa. Costs about £7 and is lovely!

SrirachaGirl · 26/08/2012 20:54

Cetaphil.

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 26/08/2012 21:02

Honey, have been using it for 6 months, skin never better. Its anti bacterial, anti imflammatory and cheap. Softens dry skin if you massage in for a minute, leave for another minute and then wash off with a hot flannel.

PestoSandalissimos · 26/08/2012 21:11

What sort of honey?
