"transition" wardrobe

I had my beautiful DD 3 months ago and as much as I love her I don't love what she's done to my figure! I've had a big clear out of my clothes today and need to get some new bits while I'm in the transition phase of post baby figure and getting as close as I can back to my ideal size.

I'm currently a size 12-14 and 5'4" and quite a squashy one rather then firm one and I'm wanting to get back to as close to a 10 as possible. While I'm in this phase I'd like to get a few bits to make me look and feel good rather then saggy bottom jeans and frumpy tops.

I'm only 29 and like to be fashionable and stylish but just don't feel it at the moment. Where can I get some clothes that look good on the slightly chunkier frame and that don't cost too much (as hopefully only in them for a couple months) and what can you suggest I get?

I'm breast feeding so need tops that I can lift up etc as will be buying a good handful of cheap primarni vests for underneath to protect modesty while out.

Thank you all

You are in almost exactly the same position as me 3 months ago (I'm 28 and was a squashy 12, but DS is now 6 months and I'm nearly back to pre pg size 10ness). What I did was a 'supermarket sweep' of H&M - I picked up some cheap jersey tops for Bf, and then a fitted cheap jacket/blazer which I throw over the top and then wear with a scarf. It really helped me feel more 'together' on days when it's too hot to wear, I have a couple of looser t-shirts (1 fat face 1 next) which I wear with a tight vest top underneath to help with feeding.

Good luck!

Love the jacket and scarf idea thank you!

Going to hit the shops next week I think!

Me too me too! Ds is three months and I've just thrown out virtually everything in my wardrobe because the pre-baby stuff will never see the light of day again (I was a size eight once but two kids later and a few years older those days are gone), and I just can't bear to look at my maternity/breastfeeding/baggy stuff a day longer. But I hope to lose another half stone to get down to a 10, so I feel your pain.

I've just bought some stuff on eBay, but it's a bit of a gamble as to whether it'll fit odd post baby body though.

I normally hate Next as it is rubbish quality these days but I went there about 4 weeks after having DD and bought some of their cheap stuff which lasted me a few months until I'd lost weight.

then I still had to buy all new as I'd totally changed shape despite being back to pre DD weight
