I've had a major wardrobe clearout and it's just BRILLIANT!

I'm all evangelical about it. Do it! Do it now! It's brilliant!

My last major clearout was a year ago, but I was more ruthless this time - I invited a very candid friend over who knows what I wear and I like her style. She sat on my bed and asked searching questions like 'When did you last wear this? What do you wear it with? How did you feel when you wore it? Isn't it exactly the same as the other red t-shirt over there? Do you really need two?'

Three big refuse bags full of clothes have gone to the charity shop - I don't have a huge amount of space (narrow IKEA wardrobe and three drawers), so it's pretty amazing that I had enough clothes to get rid of that many and still have anything left.

My clothes hang freely in the wardrobe instead of being bunched against each other, and my drawers open and close smoothly without having to cram things down. Everything is sorted into tops, bottoms, jackets, dresses. I can see exactly what I've got and I only own things that I feel fabulous in apart from a set of comfies, and two sets of exercise clothes. Everything else has gone. Ahhhh. Better than shopping...

I was also inspired by you and have 4 bags to take to clothing recycling place :) (no clothes to wear though)

I've never ebayed tbh, I just always take to charity shops. I doubt my stuff is good enough for ebay... And I find it easier if (a) everything goes straight out of the flat rather than waiting around for someone to buy it and (b) I can let go of things more easily if they're going to charity. My bags went to the Sue Ryder home shop near ours.

It's so nice to see other people clearing their wardrobe! Sorry for your lack of clothes hugandroll but haven't you found that you're more elegant than before, even with less clothes? I've had loads of comments this week Smile

And... I just cleared out my beauty products and make up! It's all tidy and organised. I had some prehistoric dried out mascaras, skin creams that had been open far too long etc. I threw away another half-bin-bag full of stuff (including lots of old toiletries bags etc.) I am going to love getting ready in the mornings now.

I'm still hunting through blogs and street style to inspire me on how to style the items I've kept and I've started a little list of outfits.
