Clip-on earrings for bride, where can I find some?

Drop pearls I was thinking, or something those lines. I ordered some from Eternal, but the metal looks really naff and plastic Sad and now I don't have the time to go trawling through antique shops (only a few weeks to go)!

Any ideas?

Something like these?

Trills · 24/08/2012 16:42

Don't clip-ons hurt?

PickledLily · 24/08/2012 16:47

Thanks Colour, yes that sort of thing but less contemporary.

Trills - probably, but it's the only option - I don't have pierced ears!

lots on etsy these are understated and elegant or thes bit more ££ or circles or drop

MsArseBiscuit · 24/08/2012 17:45

Not drop or pearls but what about this lot ? www.glitzysecrets.com/clip-on-earrings.html

PickledLily · 25/08/2012 08:13

Good suggestions - Etsy is looking closest to what I'm after so far. I hadn't thought of looking there!

Claire's accessories do magnetic earrings. Might hurt less?

PickledLily · 25/08/2012 10:51

Ok, so if I can find magnetic earrings somewhere that would be a bonus, but I'm not sure that Claire's Accessories is quite the look I envisaged for my wedding day!

Think they have simple "diamonds", pearls etc. might be worth buying two pairs though as sometimes if knocked they might come off.

Ponyinthepool · 28/08/2012 15:04

Debenhams/John Lewis/House of Fraser stock a brand called 'Monet' - expensive looking, classic clip-ons, about £20/pair.

Convertor turns pierced earrings to clips.

Thumbwitch · 28/08/2012 16:44

I hate clips, they hurt - I use screw-on earrings here are some with pearls

TapselteerieO · 28/08/2012 19:59

Well the converter is screw type, seemingly there are two different kinds, both work well with dangly pierced type earrings - if you believe the reviews.

I no longer have pierced ears, but I'm tempted to try these.

Thumbwitch · 29/08/2012 02:25

Ah those converters are nearly the best type - screw and clip - so you screw them to the right tightness for your lobes and then you can just clip them on and off. But no hook on the front for hanging the dangly bits on, so not sure how that would work...

NoComet · 29/08/2012 10:15

Hobby craft or similar places sell clips with faces to glue to or holes to hang things off.

Almost certainly cheapest and easiest to buy these and swop the hook on some conventional dangly earrings.

If you have know any friends or teens who make jewellery even better as they will have fine pliers to do it quickly.

(good pliers are expensive so I recommend scroungingWink)

TapselteerieO · 29/08/2012 14:24

"You don't need to bend the post of your pierced earring in order to use these converters. All you need to do is just insert posts directly into the cylinder, then clip onto your earlobe. It is reusable."

Loads of brilliant ideas, thanks everyone! And there was I thinking I was the only one that didn't have/wear pierced ears:)
