A child free Friday, where would you shop?

I have my very first no child Friday (children both at nursery in preparation for my return to work) so where should I shop? Cheshire Oaks, Bicester Village or London?

I'm quite frightened that if I visit London I will come home with a considerably lighter wallet and a bag you can only get in London (or Manchester)....

My time is limited so would probably only get two/three hours in London by the time I get there.

Where would you go?

Cheshire Oaks!! Dawde around, maximise your time! Make the most of just standing looking at stuff with out stopping and checking on the dc! And you can buy loooaaaads really cheap! Plus you can nip through the side and get any bits from sainsburys too Grin

Thanks! I've never been so it may be a good place to check out.

Any other suggestions?

Where do you live? I'd say if youd only get 2 or 3 hours in London that you'd probably feel a bit hurried and it wouldn't be as good an experience.

Go to whichever is closest, you don't want to waste time with travel delays! You also need time for relaxed lunch in a very child-unfriendly type of restaurant Smile

Enjoy your day!

dexter73 · 24/08/2012 08:01

I live near Bicester and think it is a bit crap, so go to either of the other two.

lemonbonbons · 24/08/2012 08:31

A child free day Smile I get maybe one or two a year and it is bliss.

Do you not want to stay close to home if it's their first day back / haven't been before ?

I'm sorry but I cannot imagine dropping my kids off at nursery for the first time and going anywhere further than 30 min away.
Imagine if you were late back Blush

If your DH etc ... are all local and not at work & can pick up / deal with settling issues- go wild in that case !!!!!

Are you driving? If so, Westfield White City

Likeaheadlesschicken · 24/08/2012 09:13

Thanks for all your suggestions, It might just be a day of mumsnetting, relaxing on the sofa and a quick trip to the local shopping centre, I'll bear these ideas in mind for my next child free day, whenever that may be!!

My first ever Biscuit to lemonbonbons for trying to ruin my excitement.

AmberNectarine · 24/08/2012 09:58

Oh god, I'd be grabbing it with both hands and running with it. Do no spend all day on the sofa!

ggirl · 24/08/2012 10:07

I would go to local shops and enjoy ...meet a friend for lunch.

just head for your nearest selfridges, given limited time! Bicester can be amazing or you can go home empty handed & depressed by the piles of tatty / ripped clothes so under the circumstnaces, head for a dead cert

DonaAna · 24/08/2012 10:52

OT but I weaned my DD2 by going to Miami. So yes do get off the sofa, do some shopping, see a friend and have a great day off!
