Am going to London this weekend and am planning to buy new handbag (after some scumbag stole my much beloved mulberry a couple of weeks ago: yes am v bitter)! Nearly always by Mulberry but fancy a change. Budget up to about £1250. Any ideas?

Bottenga Venetta?

BTW OP I remember and posted on your original thread.

Thanks! I guess I'm just rubbish at making decisions and I feel quite intimidated going into higher end stores to purchase them (I am the hopeless one at dept store make up counters allowing myself to feel less important than others: low esteem me)?!
Is it best to buy from Harrods etc or in the actual boutiques do you think?

I love AnyaHindmarch and the staff are lovely.

How awful, was it insured?

I love the classic look of the new Loewe Granada. Great for day to evening.

Am insured but it also had lots of designer accessories (purse, sunglasses etc in it), as well as my iPhone which has basically my entire life on it! Insurance dragging their feet despite being given crime number / details etc over 2 weeks ago (tracked address phone was taken to via tracking device but despite 4 policemen searching the property that was well known to them, couldn't find bag etc), still havent paid up. Can't even drive cos my glasses were in
my bag! Oh and to add insult to injury, can no longer buy the design in the colour I had (oversized mulberry Taylor in deer brown). Dh feeling sorry for me hence the trip to London (tied in nicely with taking dc to annual visit to Lego Land)
Ok, rant over (can you tell I'm still a tad miffed?!

I remember your post too - horrible experience!

If I were you I would do some serious pre-shopping research online. Somewhere like NAP is v useful for seeing an overview of what's available. Also the purse forum, where you can see photos of real people of different sizes with their bags.

In real life, Selfridges has just about everything, and Liberty has a smaller, but very well chosen selection

I would try to narrow it down a bit before shopping though - I'd get bag fatigue if I went in without having a shortlist!

House of Fraser or John Lewis might be less intimidating. I am the same though. My husband buys me lovely bags but I still feel intimidated even asking to look at the bags.

I know you say you always buy mulberry but they are quality bags! You could get the Del Ray in black forest for £795 and still have enough left to replace your purse & sunglasses?

Otherwise there are some lovely Chloe bags out atm.

Don't feel intimidated, all of the sales people in those shops are just normal people and often really helpful.

The last tinme I was in London I was lugging about a huge bag carrying something for someone else from a designer shop. It seemed to make people more receptive and friendier to me in certain stores.

Your Post OP made me more cautious with my bags especially my Mulberry ones as I think your experience unfortunatly proves how maybe people are stealing higher end stuff to make a quick buck. I think because Mulberry is very well known and recognisable if you know the details to look for which doesn't help.
