WOOKIE

A hairy yet modernized human being that commonly is seen in the western most regions of washington. a gentle creature by nature but tends to get a little erratic when it overindulges itself with its favorite foods. It's diet consist mainly of a blend barley with hops. if you see this creature be cautious as to whether you should provide him with these items. They will commonly respond to the name of Richard Pulliam but be very wary of this creature when inebriated.

Are you shitting me???? Shock Those boots are Chewbacca like to you? Shock

I think FrontPaw meant the boots I linked to.

LaurieFairyCake · 23/08/2012 17:27

oh thank god!

I like the grey furry boots though Blush but only on her - I would look hilarious in those - geuinely laugh out loud, people pointing at me in the street funny.

I meant vivas boots! Really I did! Honest!

Laurie - Oh yes, it is boring - but that is what the so called "french chic" is made of!
Here is what I see in those boring boots: has wooden-heels (very high on the trendy list this winter again as it has been for 2 years now), 2 "shades" of leather, are of the right color (no camel this winter, think tobacco now), are high enough to allow you to wear skirts with and has the "little belt" which makes ankles look thinner.

I'd wear those boots if I lived somewhere a bit more rural. In London I think I would feel odd in them unless it was actually snowing.

I think this thread encapsulates the differences really. A kind way of describing French style is "classic". A less kind way is perhaps "obvious". And maybe English women tend to value quirky, offbeat stuff more than obvious stuff. I find it a balancing act. I say I love neutral colours etc, but actually one of my favourite dresses has an enormous flouncy orange floral on it and is just SO English. It makes me happy just getting it out of the washing machine.

But then today I am dressed in shades of fudge and nude with a bit of red lippy and feeling ever so just so.

Magdalena
Any chance of a proper link pretty please (or should that be classy please)

DonaAna · 23/08/2012 17:54

Slightly too much going on with the boots - simplicity is usually more chic, unless of course you are a Russian oligarch and wear Balmain walking the dog...

Sorry - joining this late. Leave in a country that neighbours France, does that count? What is the French thread please?

ItMakesThePeasTasteFunny · 23/08/2012 18:38

Oops - live, not leave. Must be my French intonation .......

openerofjars · 23/08/2012 18:53
