Clairol nice and easy - does it *really* give tones and highlights?

Growing out horrid highlights. But getting tons of grey in it's place. I am not ready for this. Has anyone used this product or equivalent? I don't want a flat colour - want it to look natural... Help please!

I don't know about the nice and easy range - but I can recommend:-

www.superdrug.com/hair-colourants/loreal-casting-creme-gloss-chocolate-brownie-454/invt/602728/

I did my dd hair after she was growing out highlights, it's very easy to use and does what it says on the box - gives multi-tonal colour, and as it's a semi permanent it should not damage your hair too much - have used Chocolate brownie which is really really nice and also used mahogany which is also a lovely shade.

Depends on what colour your going for really, but as I've said can recommend Loreal.

It doesn't really give tones and highlights. But your old highlights will take up the colour differently than the rest of your hair. As will the greys. End result being multi tonal. Nice n easy is a good brand, but beware the browns come up darker than expected so pick a lighter shade than you are aiming for. I find superdrug is the best high street store for selection of brands and shades.

If your hair is a mixture of greys and natural then it will be multi tonal. Pick a shade lighter than your usual colour if going for browns (I am a dark brown but I use a light ash brown shade).

If your hair is all one grey I think you are more likely to get a flat colour from home dyes.

Ah. Thank you. It sounds like the two tone roots plus growing out highlights will take the colour differently! Replies appreciated nonetheless.

i used the semi-perm ash brown shade and lots of people commented on how nice it was (over highlights) but it doesn't really cover grey for long

i am in a similar position with highlights and grey roots in places. I was looking at the colours yesterday. i would only use semi perm and usually go to the hairdressers.

the colours usually come out very dark in my experience. casting looks nice but it is expensive compared to the others.

I bought some. Will report findings. If not, it's off to the salon for me. Possibly for the same hiarcut as Helena c in the Boden catalogue. It's a good cut, no?
