Keratin Hair Treatment Question

Apologies if this has been asked before.

Quick explanation regarding my awful hair. It is;

Fine
Grey
Fluffy
Moderately wavy
Coloured with various blonde shades
Has lots of little broken strands that stick up and have a life of their own
Shoulder length

It only looks Ok if blow dried and I do straighten it but not too much (just once or twice a week). I'd like to lay off the heat treatments to enable it to repair and become more healthy-looking but I wouldn't like it to be poker straight.

Would a keratin treatment be any good for me or do you have to have it straightened to within an inch...?

i had the global keratin treatment, and i still needed to straighten my hair! it does make it look better and it kept its straight look all day, but i was expecting a lot more for £150. i don't think it lasted that well either, maybe 3 months before it started tosing some of the shine.

one thing i have started using recently is the organix keratin shampoo / conditioner / straightening spray. these seem to be working quite well in my hair, and making it appear straighter.

though might be worth it for you if you plan to do one of those home straightening kits, since they are much less than the salon price- though i think you do have to straighten it within an inch! in the salon, the hairdresser took tiny sections and went over each section about 10 times.

Thanks coco, for your input.

I will, when I get around to it, go and find a decent salon and see what they have to say.

I really don't like the idea of very lank, straight hair - even if it is shiny. I was hoping I might achieve my natural wave but with the cuticles nicely sealed. That way, I might be able to let it dry naturally.
