Anything i can get in a Size 9

Skribble · 12/03/2006 22:50

Any ideas for summery shoes for someone who doesn't wear wedges, heals, things between toes and ones that show toes, I am going on holiday and as I don't wear shorts I will probably get a few long light skirts, so I need shoes that I can wear with them but not sandals. I don't think my cross country trainers, riding boots or black work boots would look quite right Grin.

I would perhaps maybe at a stretch consider shoes that show toes as long as they don't look link mutant sausages squeezing out.

MrsBadger · 12/03/2006 23:03

Skribble - my sister is dead pleased with some from Topshop - website is all Flash so no links, but they're on the far right of the Flat Shoes section and are called Pointed Flats with T-bar - cream canvas with navy pinstripes, very now.
Also have a good range of converse-meet-ballet-pump things.

expatinscotland · 12/03/2006 23:06

a polka dot dress. my combats. my kenneth cole wedge sandals - red leather. my tan-coloured dr. scholl wedges. my red leather converse trainers. some funky heels. my next black leather slides. lots of jeans and baby tees.

NO birks. ewwww. they make your feet look awful even w/a pedicure.

Would love help finding some smart shoes for those of us who are serious walkers. Find that I usually must choose between looking smart/fashionable (not practical for much walking) or comfortable (trainers or birkies).

Walking is my main method of exercise, and I do about 35 miles per week. Flip flops don't offer enough support, and espadrilles - while they look lovely - are completely impractical. Would love to find some shoes that combine fashion and comfort/support.

Any ideas/links?

I've just ordered some interesting looking silver hybrids - cross between sandal and trainer from FCUK - they tie up with silver ribbon and look comfy and a bit funky.
Bet they're horrid when they arrive. Can't do links as am very tired and a bit crap at everything today...and in a bad mood generally...pesky kids etc

Also have some 'scholl' type ones in a light green.

Deffo on the lookout for more nice summer shoes.

Anniemac - you wouldn't be a Kiwi by any chance would you? Took me a while to work out just what killing machine had been employed when a NZ friend of ours announced that he had been using his jandals to splat geckos (not an activity of which I approve). Between that and thongs...still have childish snigger at entrance conditions to our local cinema which states No Thongs Blush. (We're in oz).

Passionflower · 13/03/2006 22:01

\link{http://www.redoute.co.uk/redouteuk/sBoutique/1,1170,,00.html\these} I'm in love with them.

I have found the \link{http://www.schnees.com/catalog/brands/hitec/p_hi-5159w.html\perfect} shoe for wearing with floaty dresses Grin.

Skribble · 14/03/2006 00:41

Actually I got something like this today for my holiday, not really my thing but it will do. I will use them for sailing too probably.

Skribble · 14/03/2006 00:41

That would be something like \link{http://www.venturesport.co.uk/venturesport_product.asp?parseid=4863\this} that is.

ghosty · 14/03/2006 01:00

annimac must be a kiwi ... no one else calls the jandals but the kiwis Smile
And I also snigger childishly at the Aussie word for flip flops - 'Thongs'
DS couldn't understand why I was rolling on the floor clutching my sides when we read a library book about a witch that went something like this, "The door bell rang and Millie slipped on her thongs before going to answer it ..." PMSL Grin

This summer in NZ I have been mostly wearing flip flops ... I have a black pair (beaded detail on top of foot), a brown pair (sort of amber jewels on top), plain brown leather pair for slopping around, flip flop sandal things without the bit inbetween the toes (tan leather), black flip flop kitten heels for going out - and my favourite pair that I bought in Oasis in England last summer ... flip flops with coloured flowers on top ...
Umm ... DH thinks I have too many pairs of flip flops ...is he right? Wink
For winter I own a pair of trainers and two pairs of boots ... but then I only need to wear them for about 3 months so i am ok.
