Has anyone had either fillers or a chemical peel?

that's all, really.
I am considering either or both of these. If you have had either of them, would you recommend?
TIA

Hi, I dont mind admitting to having fillers (my age: 48). Restylane is a wonderful thing - takes the edge of your age and no-one can tell!

The downside is the cost - about £350 each time, though I only have it done once a year, which I can just about justify. Also, you really really need to find a reputable practitioner, ideally someone who is a qualified doctor and/or works in the cosmetic surgery field. Ask around, get recommendations, check qualifications and experience. good luck!

thanks lairy i do appreciate your reply.
I am exactly the same age as you, BTW.

I could just about justify the cost if it's only once a year, but the practitioner I consulted seemed to think that top ups would be more frequent than that - more like 9 months I think. If it's once a year, I would definitely be more inclined to go ahead -

I asked her that if she had my face and could choose one procedure to have done, what would it be. She said a chemical peel. I then said, what about this "down at mouth" look that I have when my face is at rest IYSWIM. This is when she mentioned Restylane filler.

When I started having the restylane, it was mainly to get rid of nose/mouth lines and the little lines around the mouth. It worked a treat (especially the 'down at mouth' lines, but needed repeating after 6 months or so, then after 9 months, now every year. I like the subtle 'natural' look as opposed to the 'done' look, so have now settled into an annual maintenance routine which works for me. But everyone is different, so you have to decide what works for your face.

I can't comment on chemical peels personally, and I probably wouldn't try one, as I have very sensitive skin.

Lairymum whereabouts do you get your restylane done? Not brave enough to have it done without a recommendation...
