Anyone had a boob job? Need advice

I'm desperate for one! The skin on them has lost a lot of the elasticity and has a few stretch marks, would this look any better after a boob job?
Also, is it possible to just go one cup size higher? I average an A now but I don't want them much bigger than a generous B.
Once you have them do you just keep them for the rest of your life or do they need changing every few years?
How much do they cost? I'd be prepared to go to a v good surgeon, I've heard to many horror stories of cheap jobbies.

I know I'd obviously have to ask all this and more with a surgeon but just thought I'd check here first seeing as I can't make any life decisions without MN

Hi there I got mine done this year and paid £3750.00. I love mine, like other posts have said it hasn't changed me nor has it changed my life. I just love my boobs, to be honest I feel like I have always has them. I have lost no sensation and the fact that I love them and love DP enjoying them, has made my sex life go through the roof.

Visit Breast Buddies forum there loads of help and advice on there.

TallDwarf · 23/08/2012 16:13

Thanks guys, you've really put my mind at ease over it. I'm 99% certain I'm going to get them done, just need to find the money for it now.
Can I ask how they feel to the touch? DP isn't over keen on me doing it as he hates the big round balls stuck on out our chest look, plus he thinks they are quite hard to the touch?
I'd only want to go to a big B cup at the largest I think. I'm quite short and average a size 10-12 so i don't think I'd suit any bigger.

They are hard. Nothing like natural breasts.

Dosey · 23/08/2012 18:09

They are hard after your op but after a few weeks they 'drop and fluff' and become much softer. Mine are soft butnI have never felt anybody else's boobs so I can't compare but DP says they feel like real ones to him.

Willowisp · 23/08/2012 18:14

BUPA -there are no sales people here. I've had 2. Both fine, 2nd set smaller (!). No PIPs here, just 15 yrs old & I was worried about them leaking, they were find though, but the smaller size suits me better. Think 34c to small 34b. Breast implants are always round, so I would look carefully at profile & MAKE sure you see sizes, go buy a bra you want to fill & take it to him/her.

Consultations should be free...although of course I expect this is thrown in the package price.

Implants aren't hard, they are firm & heavier than normal boobs & say good bye to sleeping on your belly...think sleeping on a lilo !

Willowisp · 23/08/2012 18:16

Ps paid about £4k (had a little tweak of lipo) & cc's went from 250cc to 175cc.

Krumbum · 23/08/2012 19:21

I've felt a lot of boobs. They feel completely different and much harder.

bumhead · 23/08/2012 21:20

I've felt mine since I was 15, mine feel soft!
Had mine 'done' 4 years ago. Best thing ever.
After 2 kids they were empty and awful. When I split from my husband and got divorced I knew one day someone new was going to see me naked and I wanted to do this for me.
I went to a fabulous clinic in Prague and paid £2000 for mine, included a weeks stay in that.
Not regretted it for one second, it's like I've always had them.
Yes they are firmer and heavier but they aren't hard thank you. Far from it

Krumbum · 23/08/2012 22:48

That's not doing it for you then is it.

Freshletticiaandslugs · 23/08/2012 23:10

So has anyone had an uplift and slight reduction then? I have been a GG since I had DD2 and whilst they look ok in a well-fitting bra they are falling low fast without it. I am 'of a certain age', which means I get hot flushes, so I also have to be very careful not to get a rash underneath them, which means not only clean bra every day but care with washing powders and often using hydrocortisone cream.
My SD had hers reduced but she has awful scars.
Anyone had a good experience?

Dosey · 24/08/2012 09:10

Not had an uplift or reduction. I think the reduction is a bigger operation because the nipple is moved.

The scars from my augmentation are very neat and have caused me no problems. my boobs are soft and lovely x

Ab old friend had a reduction, the scars were bad, c shape under the breast, horizontal line from beneat breast to nipple, scar all around nipple.

What would you wear for breast support when waiting for scars to heal, as I imagine underwire and lace would hurt?

Charliefox · 24/08/2012 21:04

Great forum here, with endless reports and pics of all kinds of surgery www.realself.com/Breast-reduction/before-and-after-photos

Had a boob job 10 years ago. I went from a AA to a DD, but as I'm a size 12-14 with big hips they don't look at all out of place. I used to spend a fortune on bras and gel lifters inside them to look bigger.

I had my implants done under the muscle. I don't remember the pain at all as I just remember being thrilled with them.

I have no feeling in my nipples but I don't care because I am soooo much happier with bigger boobs and don't regret it at all.

Mine cost £3890 10 years ago. I saw the surgeon for a consultation who was brilliant. His workload was 95% nhs reconstructive surgery and 5% private and he had an amazing reputation.

Do your research and understand the risks. But other than having my daughter, its the best thing I ever did.

petarjons · 11/01/2013 05:10

I was worried about this as I am a tummy sleeper but despite not being able to sleep On my tummy

SassySask · 11/01/2013 19:34

Don't use a clinic!! Not now, not ever. That's the best piece of advice anyone could give you!
Also, expect to pay around £150 for a consultation. My consultant is Prof. Simon Kay, he did that hand transplant the other day that I got ridiculously excited about Grin.
Use a surgeon that is BAAPS and BAPRAS registered, same for the anesthetist.
Check the aftercare and how many follow-ups you have.
Don't expect them to be cheap. If they're cheap, they're crap. Those PIP implants were cheap and surprise surprise, crap.

strumpetpumpkin · 11/01/2013 19:47

I had one about 3 years ago. I then went back for an uplift a year later as the surgeon had thought we could get away without an uplift, but it turned out not to be a good effect, so he did the uplift for free.
I actually WOULDNT go to any of the places with the free consultations tbh, or any of the ones that do special deals or offers. These are the conveyor belt companies that will leave you in the lurch if something goes wrong.
Surgeons do not do initial free consultations, and these free ones will be with a sales rep, not a surgeon, who is likely to Just tell you whatever you want to hear.

I went with a company called mybreast and I would really recommend them. All of their surgeons are BAPRA and BAAPS registered and certified. Their aftercare was second to none. They never gave me any hard sell, unlike some other companies. It is against their policy to do so. They charged a nominal amount for a consultation with a surgeon, but this is taken off the price of your surgery if you choose to go with them.
Do your research. Do not ask for specific bra sizes. This is meaningless and in general peoples ideas of bra sizes can vary wildly, as can different ways of measuring. Surgeons work in terms of CC implant (ml)

strumpetpumpkin · 11/01/2013 19:48

and mine was £4200.

strumpetpumpkin · 11/01/2013 19:50

and my surgeon told me at my consultation about PIP implants, and ALL the surgeons knew about them WELL before it all hit the news. The cheap companies just kept on putting them in women, knowing full well they had a 70% rupture rate. Please avoid those places like the plague. They are immoral. Playing on womens insecurities.
