Uniqlo Corduroy Skinny Straight Trousers, does anyone have these? are they more skinny or more straight?

I have them in olive, they do come up quite large though, I got my usual 28 inch but they are quite loose but I will wear with a belt rather than bother changing. I would say they are more a slim leg than skinny as to me skinny is more skin tight and tight around the ankle which these are def not.

JellicleCat · 21/08/2012 22:30

How tight are they round the calves? I tried on a pair of skinny jeans in New Look at the weekend. They fitted great around my bottom but were so tight round my calves they stopped the circulation. They were really nice, soft material and a lovely colour as well Sad

HoopDePoop · 21/08/2012 22:36

Jellicle - Uniqlo also do a lush really soft pair of trousers, like skinny jeans but super soft fabric like moleskin, lovely alternative to skinny jeans Smile

If you want them tight, just size down - I would normally be at least a 28 but in a 26 they are nicely tight and still flattering. In a 28 they were looser and more 'straight' but not as fashionable looking imo. Can't sing their praises enough tho am slightly scared they will be the new MN spotting item

justasecond · 21/08/2012 22:41

Hoop - perhaps I should size down in that case, its just a pain that I don't live near a store, maybe I should drag all 3 dcs to westfield tommorow...

justasecond · 21/08/2012 22:43

crap! they are out of stock in the 27in in olive!

HoopDePoop · 21/08/2012 22:45

They had LOADS in stock in the Ox St branch in all colours and sizes, but I got mine there and then as was scared they'd sell out. Call Westfield in the morning ad drag your bairns along and bribe with ice-cream

justasecond · 21/08/2012 22:49

Yes good idea, then I can get them shortened at the same time. DS, 20 months hates shopping though and I have even run out of the barbeque mini pretzels I have to bribe him with in exchange for 20 mins at the shops!

JellicleCat · 21/08/2012 22:49

Ok, may just go for them

What do we think about colour? Sedate, but useful brown (I love brown cords), or fun, but not sure what to wear with it, purple? Just love the 77 purple and the blue, and the other purple, maybe the grey?

ToastedTeacakes · 21/08/2012 23:45

As for what to wear with them.....for late summer/early autumn I like the idea of pairing them with a pale coloured silk shirt or plain tee, breton stripes or a thin cashmere for colder days. Would wear with patent black brogues or leather mid heel sandals, and maybe smart courts come winter. That's just me though. I've been eying these cords for months and haven't yet bought any. I always seem to land between sizes, so the smaller pair wrinkle in a horrid way on back of thighs and the larger pair sag at the waist.

If I am technically a UK8/10 (usually a 27 in jeans) should I opt for the uniqlo 26?

ToastedTeacakes · 21/08/2012 23:45

Also, I like the way they are styled at this site (the shoes, etc):

HoopDePoop · 21/08/2012 23:56

Ooh yes Toasted, I do love that look with skinny jeans, court shoes and insouciant top. Maybe a scarf too for autumn and a lovely bag.

The sun has finally appeared and I'm fantasising about wintry fashion!

HoopDePoop · 21/08/2012 23:58

I am a 28 or 29 in jeans / fatbum size ten and found a 26 perfect, so I'd go smaller Toasted, a 25 maybe.

ToastedTeacakes · 22/08/2012 02:35

Thanks Hoop!

Pelicano · 22/08/2012 21:13

hoop - thank you for saving me from an evening of sewing.
I can drop my mail order ones off and get them sorted whilst we have lunch, I hope.

goodstuffhappens · 09/09/2012 07:23

Could anyone tell me how long these are? They look great but I'm lanky!

Catsu · 09/09/2012 07:42

I think I'm going to order some too.
Any other basic items that uniqlo are good for and that I should look at while ordering?!

PerUnaBomber · 09/09/2012 08:06

I've got 2 pairs of these - not perfect as they wrinkle at the bottom when I have flats on. I really like them, apart from the bagginess at the ankle, so don't tuck into my ankle boots very neatly, but as they are 'skinny straight', then that's to be expected. I am a 10/12 apple shape (small bum, fat tum) and found a 27 is best for me.

SteppingOnLego · 09/09/2012 08:21

I have these in teal blue and they are lovely. My usual size from uniqlo is 10 (so 27 waist trousers) and I buy their chinos for work. However in these I have got a 28. They are a bit big on the waist so need a belt but quite snug on my (muscular) calves. So I would say don't size down if you have more chunky legs!

Caerlaverock · 10/09/2012 12:40

Men arrived today, and fit! They are gorgeous but too long will have to tuck or chop

NotMostPeople · 10/09/2012 13:30

Goodstuff I'm 5'7" and I'd say they're a tiny bit too long in that barefoot I'm slightly stepping on the hem.

Caerlaverock · 10/09/2012 13:44

yes i am 5 8 and the are just too long

justasecond · 10/09/2012 13:52

Has anyone washed theirs yet? do they shrink? mine are just a weency bit long but am hoping they will shrink a little bit to make them right length.

NotMostPeople · 10/09/2012 14:02

I've washed mine, no noticeable shrinkage and didn't need to be ironed - result!

OhBuggerandArse · 10/09/2012 14:20

Any codes floating about?
