Pop concert at a racecourse with dress code - what to wear?

I'm taking DD to a concert at the weekend and the racecourse where it's being held has a fairly tight dress code - no jeans/denim, no trainers, no beachwear or anything 'outrageous'. It says on the website and on the bumph that came with the tickets that this does need to be adhered to which I guess is the venue's prerogative although I'm a bit surprised for an occasion which would usually be much more casual.

Anyway, I knew this when I booked it so it's fine but I'm at a loss as to what I should wear - most of my dresses are casual-ish cotton sundresses (that could maybe be smartened up with a nice cardi or jacket), the only other ones I own are more formal/evening-y (one fitted satin dress, one shift style but with a flared skirt). I have got a black jersey maxi dress that might do and also a plain purple maxi skirt that I could possibly do something with but neither of them feels quite right.

I don't really want to buy anything else, especially something I won't get much wear out of, but I'd rather that than spend all day feeling uncomfortable - either much smarter than everyone else or too casual and possibly not be let in!

Has anyone been to one of these sort of affairs and can give me some idea what people wear? Or just some tips for achieving a smart-casual look that will work? I know what I'd wear for a day at the races and I know what I'd wear for a pop concert but I'm really struggling to find something that's suitable for both!

Cotton sundress should be fine. Some people do still dress up to the nines for racing, even with evening concerts, some don't so it's all down to what you feel comfortable in.

It's hard to know what I'd be comfortable in, I don't get out of jeans much (not an option here) but if everyone else is in smart dresses I'll probably wish I'd made more of an effort.
