Are Cath Kidston bags lame?

That's it really, went in the shop today but just can't decide if they are quite nice or plastic and nasty?

Opinions please oh wise ones :-)

Nothing is lame if you like it. If you can't decide, however, you probably don't like it enough.

HoopDePoop · 17/08/2012 22:43

Depends if they fit in with your style. I wouldn't wear handbag personally but love the nappy bag.

MrsRyanLochte · 17/08/2012 22:46

I wouldn't choose a handbag but love it for accessories - purse, phone case, key fob etc. Book bags good for carting folders about or for beach trips etc.

MrsRyanLochte · 17/08/2012 22:48

And yes to sticking with your gut instinct - if you had to ask, probably don't love it enough to buy it? Spend your money elsewhere.

megcleary · 17/08/2012 22:48

Ooh total diversion of thread but Mrs Lochte love the name

Itsjustafleshwound · 17/08/2012 22:49

I have the messenger bag and they are big enough to hold everything that I need and I do like rhem.

They are very 'marmite' and there are cheaper alternatives ...

mosschops30 · 17/08/2012 22:52

It was the messenger I liked, I prefer a hands free bag

Bit 'frumpy-mummy', more nappy bag than handbag, for me.

MrsRyanLochte · 17/08/2012 23:03

Why thank you! I was thinking a post-Olympics name change was in order but might keep it a little longer!

MorrisZapp · 17/08/2012 23:03

Gut reaction, yes they look lame to me.

But my fave bags are by Fossil, which is probably thought to be mummy pish by the young trendies.

If you love it, that's all that matters.

ComradeJing · 18/08/2012 01:11

I don't like them. Total mummy bags but I can see how useful they would be as a nappy bag. I'm looking for a good handsfree one at the moment that isn't too unisex and struggling!

SoBo1 · 18/08/2012 19:23

I don't get the Cath Kidston thing. I think they look better than most regular changing bags but really those ones that you can't even put on your shoulder - F ing useless as far as i'm concerned.

MrsSnow · 18/08/2012 22:05

Depends do you get the whole catch kids on fixation?

Personally I think they are plastic and lame. I'd much rather spend that money on something beautiful. Fossil bags are fantastic as MorrisZapp said

LackingNameChangeInspiration · 18/08/2012 22:07

I think they're lame

ken0eddie0kennedy · 18/08/2012 22:09

I think they probably are.

Jakadaal · 18/08/2012 22:11

I have the same dilemma and have even carried a bag to the till only to change my mind at the last minute! Am now investigating Orla Kielly or Fossil oil cloth bags instead

EdgarOlymPic · 18/08/2012 22:15

ubiquitous.

my bag is one of these

just as practical but have yet to meet someone else with the same/ similar bag. lots of compliments.

ComradeJing · 19/08/2012 06:42

Those are lovely bags Edgar!

MonaLotte · 19/08/2012 09:25

I like them I have a messenger and a day bag. But I like flowery bags! If you are undecided I agree with the others, you probably don't love it so should wait and see if you can find something better.

milkymocha · 19/08/2012 09:32

I have the baby changing bag (spray flowers) and i love it! Its lasted 6 minths so far and still looks perfect !

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 19/08/2012 09:40

I have loads. I buy them in the sale so I can justify buying a plastic bag.
I buy the big square ones for work, to put my toys in.
And I buy the matching box ones for my purse etc.
Tres chic I reckons

Pinot · 19/08/2012 10:58

I like them - some of them. They last really well.
