High heel or dressy but comfy-ish shoes?

I know I am probably asking for the moon on a stick but can anyone recommend some nice going out shoes that are ok to walk in & that I'll actually be able to wear on my feet all night without being in agony? life as a SAHM has meant I'm wearing flats most of the time & my poor toes don't know what heels are but have a rare girls night out this weekend & would like to look & feel the part. Are wedges the answer?

I'll probably be shot down in flames here but try m and s for comfy heels.

Go for support on the foot rather than round the ankle (so Mary Jane style t- bars)

What would you be wearing them with? What colours? Budget?

M&S do have some quite nice shoes sometimes. Definitely more comfortable than a lot of places.

These would be fab with a LBD. As would these red ones

Another vote for M&S. That insolia is magic.

MrsHelsBels74 · 16/08/2012 20:45

Those red ones are fab!

Clarks have got some really smart high heels and they are really comfortable. I just got these Bronze heels and I can wear them all day at work with no problem

Thanks for all your replies- sorry for delay jut back from buying Peppa pig bribery stickers Hmm

panda prob to wear with nice jeans rather than skirts/ dresses. Budget: willing to spend up to £100 for a good pair that will last ages & be my party shoes.

Wow- those leopard ones are certainly vampish- I do like them but I always associate animal print with Bett Lynch but I think I need to get over that so will check them out in store.

Ah a number of you recommending M&S. I think I tried the insolia thing years ago when it very first came out but thought it didn't make much difference but they might have advanced now.

Ah of course clarks- didn't think of that- and I could get a discount through family. I think some of these look better on than just in the pics.

Mid height wedges all the way. Whatever you decide slip some compeed blister plasters and normal plasters in your bag and if you can get some fold up flats so that if you are in pain/feet aching in heels you can change in to them. They were on the miss selfridge website last time I looked.
