This.

I would like a jacket, saw one in Fever but they don't have my size, in fact I can't find it any more so it has gone. I have 30G norks so anything that doesn't make them look any bigger would be good, and I am almost 5 foot short, so any body lengthening looks are good. I will try any colour - I like green and red as well as blue, I will also consider purple.

I might need a petticoat - the dress looks a bit meh at the moment, I have had it altered to fit me, so I am keeping it - any help on making me look like I am going to a party would help.

I am still looking for shoes, I would like them to be good for dancing, but as high as possible!

Help me please.

Yes, you definitely need a petticoat. White, surely? I've just got a new one and it's the best I've ever had it moves beautifully is full, really soft and generally dream to wear. A lot of the cheap ebay ones are all stiff and itchy 'cause they're net rather than chiffon. Bah.

Anyway - it's the Sams STP835 (4th down on the left). Is an old fashioned site / company and you need to phone to order...

tigermask · 16/08/2012 10:59

Are you sure you want a jacket? It'd need to be really fitted and it'd be a nightmare to find one that'd fit waist and norks - would you be willing to have that adjusted too? A wee cropped cardy would be great, this sort of thing but probably in red.

Shoe wise, how about these?

Do you have a bag?

BunnyLebowski · 16/08/2012 11:49

Definitely no jacket! If you're going 50's with the petticoat a jacket will ruin the look and look really mumsy. And the dress has sleeves so no need at all.

YY to white petticoat. I have loads of those dresses and they look flat and dreary without the petticoat.

I would go red or bright pink for the shoes (bright green/blue would be fab too), full pin-up make-up and a flower in my hair.

TapselteerieO · 16/08/2012 12:23

tiger those petticoats look lush but I think my budget is more ebay, are the ebay ones really scratchy?

Okay no jacket, you are right Bunny I don't want to look mumsy , I will be brave, but will look for a cropped cardigan - I like the shape of the one you linked to tiger, but, yes need a different colour.

Should I wear tights? I have shoes in mind, a pair of almost coral red with a sort of pom pom thing I got in a sale at Office years ago, they have a retro look or, and I may get flamed I have also seen a pair that are slightly rockabilly imho and very me... Okay they just might clash too much but I still want them here.

I haven't got a bag but if my budget can stretch, I have one in mind, which is red wicker.

This petticoat

in ivory as the spots on the dress don't look a stark white and the white petticoats are very white!

No tights! No need with the full skirt!

The shoes you already have would do at a push but they're not rocking my world.

Those tartan things are utterly disgusting and will transition your look from 50's bombshell to Confused Bay City Roller fan.

Will have a mooch for alternatives.

BunnyLebowski · 16/08/2012 12:58

Right. Shoes!

Gorgeous

Similar

T-bars would be fab

Ruffly!

All Bunny's shoes are amazing but I'm afraid I don't like the one you linked to at all OP. Well, actually, I do like the second ones but absolutely not with that dress.

A red petticoat would be good.

H&M, New Look and M&S usually all have a range of cropped cardigans for small money.

BunnyLebowski · 16/08/2012 16:59

Aren't they all lush?? I don't know which ones I love most.

I've been rummaging down the sofa all afternoon trying to find enough pennies for just one pair Sad Grin

MrsLettuce · 16/08/2012 17:10

Heavenly! I wish I could wear stuff like that but I'm blessed with very wide feet, can't get any of the beauties on, let alone walk in them.

For me it's between the t-bars and the burlesque-ish ones. These are very simple but I love 'em.

BunnyLebowski · 16/08/2012 17:16

They are fab. Simple but oh so effective Grin

I found these earlier while searching for OP. I would sell DD for them. Seriously.

MrsLettuce · 16/08/2012 17:18

Oh My Goodness Grin They're seriously lush.

BunnyLebowski · 16/08/2012 17:30

I know

I have this dress that they would be perfect with.........gah!

MrsLettuce · 16/08/2012 18:13

Oh dear, they would. Bugger. You must have them Grin

TapselteerieO · 16/08/2012 18:33

Thank you for all your hard work Bunny. I like the last three you linked to, particularly the "ruffly" ones. I really want to be able to dance in the shoes (ceilidh), so would prefer something with a sturdier heel.

The gingham ones are very lovely too.

OP posts:
BunnyLebowski · 16/08/2012 18:39

They are gorgeous. And the velvet texture makrs them look much more expensive than they are!

Get em Grin

MrsLettuce · 16/08/2012 18:44

Good choice Tapselteerie! AFAIK it's the done thing to kick your heels of with wild abandon at ceilidh, is that not right?

TapselteerieO · 16/08/2012 18:53

Bunny these are the same shoes you love for £16 - if you are a size 40?

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 16/08/2012 19:00

How about these, they're not in the same leauge as bunny's but Quite Nice, sturdy and most probably comfy too.

TapselteerieO · 16/08/2012 19:01

oh and £27.50 here. < gets distracted >
