Clothes for a "well built" almost 6 year old girl - Help please!

My DD is almost six, and loves girly pretty clothes. She's well built, with wide shoulders and quite a big waist - but very tall for her age, so not fat in the slightest. But finding clothes is a nightmare - everywhere sells trousers with "adjustable waists" which drive me mad because these are for girls with tiny waists. School pinafores are a nightmare - they're so tight she can't get them on and off herself easily. As soon as I go up to size 7-8, things get longer, not wider, and the styles - aaaahhh - don't get me started - she doesn't want, and I don't want her to dress like a stroppy teenager or tart at age almost 6! Please help - any suggestions of good places to go (high street /or on-line I don't mind). My other DD is 4, and I picked up some great things in Tesco today, but of course the pretty stuff only goes up to age 5-6, then older than that, only the stroppy teenage stuff is available!

Have you tried \link{http://www.pumpkinpatch.co.uk\Pumpkin Patch?} They do up to age 11, I've found their fit is pretty generous, and they don't sell clothes that make children look like hookers.

As for pinafores, I've found that BhS are quite roomy - certainly more so than places like Adams and M&S.

I am longing to buy my nearly 6 yo dd those lovely flouncy skirts. I have got her one (from a sale in Gap) but it is too big for her. I can't usually afford new clothes for my children so she has loads of clothes that were fashionable about 3 years ago, regretably. Why do children's fashions have to change so often?

Anyway, I think a flouncy skirt would be nice for your dd and surely not too tarty, by definition.
