Problem sweating

I have always been a sweaty person, and nothing I have tried has made it any better. I think have tried most of the heavy duty deodorants (Arrid, Mitchum etc) but none of them seem to work.

It is worse on a warm day but I still sweat a lot even in cool weather. Has anyone found a solution to this? I have heard that you can get Botox injected into your armpits to stop the sweat glands working, but I'm not sure I could bring myself to do that.

Any suggestions? It is really getting me down.

Have you thought of something like this ?

Are you wearing cotton clothing, loose?

Have you tried Driclor? You put it on once a week at night, wash it off in the morning and you should stay sweat free for a week. I used to always use it in the summer. I feel your pain - I was at a wedding last week in a stifling conservatory and stained my lovely dress. I can just imagine everyone looking at their photos.... 'what was her with the sweaty pits called again, dear?!'

I have this problem, its called hyperhydrosis (I found that out watching embarrassing bodies one day). I used to have sweat patches within 10 minutes of getting dressed and when I was nervous it was horrendous :(

I discovered a product called Driclor - you can buy it in boots, and also off of amazon. It costs about £7 for a small bottle but it lasts about 6 months. It is a roll on and you start off using it every night (not morning but use your normal daily deodorant - I find I can use any deodorant now) and gradually space out the time you use it.

I have used it for about 2 years and it has completely stopped my problem. It is worth bearing in mind that it does not always work immediately, it is a long term solution but if I remember rightly my sweating stopped in a matter of weeks. I find I only apply it once or twice a month now. I do however throw out my bottle every 6 months as I feel it loses effectiveness.

If you do decide to try it, be warned that it does sting like hell to start with. Don't shave for about 24 hours before using it - that is an issue when you first use it as you have to do it every day. It did sometimes leave my skin feeling sore, but I moisturised the next day before using deodorant.

I recommended it to my friend too but she gave up after a week or so as she didn't like the stinging, although I had explained to her it does eventually go away. To be honest, the stinging was preferable to the embarrassment I felt being all sweaty.

Well it's good to hear that I'm not the only one at least! I think I did try the driclor once and it felt as though my armpits were on fire! I might be tempted to persevere with it though, if it really does work. I'd be really interested to hear if anyone has opted for surgery to solve the problem.

I have this problem too but I also sweat all over my backSad makes it very difficult trying to find clothes that won't show the sweat patches. Even when it's cold outside after a few mins walking I'm all sweatySad I'll be watching this thread to see if anyone else has had this and has any cures!

Try Anhydrol or Odaban from Amazon.

Anhydrol has literally saved my life. Stings a little bit but worth it as its saved me from a life of dripping pits. Recently had to go to New York with work and took this with me, I would have been an uber sweaty Betty without it ;)

Anhydrol is a roll on which is great for underarms, Odaban is a pump spray which can be used on face, underarm, body and feet.

Lozislovely · 10/08/2012 22:26

Oops, just checked the box, it's called Anhydrol Forte Grin

Update! I opted for Triple Dry roll on in the end - on the same shelf and the same price as Driclor but a bigger bottle (and it was half price in Boots), so I thought I'd give it a go and then try Driclor if it didn't work (on the assumption that it is probably stronger).

Anyhow, I think the Triple Dry has done the trick! Hooray! I have been applying it regularly (every other evening now). It gave me a mild tingling (not even stinging) on the first evening, but nothing since. Even in all this heat, the underarm sweating has virtually been eliminated. I think as a result I am perspiring slightly more on my face, but at least no big sweat patches to worry about!

Good tip, thanks fading

I swear by sweatex dispoasable sweat pads, but they're not suitable for all tops.
