They go to secondary in a couple of weeks so feel its time that they can lose the long hair which just gets pulled into a ponytail.

They are currently asking for a shoulder length bob type style.

They have very very very thick blond hair which is very wavy in places, curly in places particularly when damp. Currently comes to the middle of their back, so a lot to work with/scope.

Needs to be ZERO maintenance. I can't be blow drying daily and whenever they've tries they've nearly blown up my hairdryer.

I had thought about a MN haircut - which I have myself - think it would bring out the curls and waves but could also lead to needing to wash daily and in the mornings which would be a nightmare.

Oh and would rather avoid a fringe cos I'm not very good at getting it cut regularly.

All suggestions welcome.

I would actually suggest they leave it as it is until they know which 'group' they fit in with at high school

they are still actually quite young to have a specific style, especially if they can't manage it themselves

Agree, but in the meantime start training them with the hair dryer. Secondary school should be old enough to do it themselves.

I would stick with the pony tail my dd is 13 and that's what she and her friends have , some with fringes some without

Thanks.

I wasn't looking for a proper adult style really. Just something a bit more manageable as it is so tangly cos it is so thick and long and wavey. Thought that going shorter would help with that, but I do associate shorter styles with needing to be styled, and wondered if there was anything that didn't need the styling.

Will just encourage them to have it cut just below the shoulders I think.
