I've been waiting and waiting for it to be on the website for 2 months, before it was for sale. No sign of it. Now in the daily mail there's an article saying its selling like hot cakes online but I still can't find it on the bloody website.

How the hell are people buying it online!

Well I went to town, they don't have it in and have never had it in. Sales assistant was slightly disbeliving and convinced I must be talking about a kid's dress.

It looks like a polyester bank uniform

VivaLeBeaver · 04/08/2012 11:16

I shall console myself with that thought. Grin

I just tried this on and hated it! Made me look frumpy, I'm a size 16 and f was very tight (I have no problems with size 16 anywhere else) shame cuz I love owl prints. However they also have a lovely owl jumper and I bought that and the size 16 fit perfectly.

NettOlympicSuperstar · 04/08/2012 17:24

I want it too, but can't be arsed to schlep to Glasgow and find somewhere to park.

NettOlympicSuperstar · 04/08/2012 17:24

But if anyone wants to buy it in a size 8 and sell it on to me, I'll love you foreverGrin

Tiddlymum · 04/08/2012 22:43

I am 41 years old- I am not wearing a dress with bloody owls on! Sorry I am v underwhelmed!!!!

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 04/08/2012 23:02

tiddly I am 26 and I wouldn't wear it either. My 7 yo probably would though

thenightsky · 04/08/2012 23:06

Viva Was it the Lincoln branch? They seem to be a totally different shop to the rest of the world Confused

VivaLeBeaver · 04/08/2012 23:13

Yes, Lincoln.

Mmmm, I'm probably too old to wear a dress with owls on it. Probably too fat as well but never mind.

A good few years ago I could walk in to m and s and pick up a great night out outfit- these days it's only knickers!

thenightsky · 04/08/2012 23:48

We ought to have a MN lincoln meet purely to go to M&S so we can point and snigger. I reckon Lincoln take all the stock that the rest of world reject (and that's saying summat)

Stratters would be up for it I'm sure!

VivaLeBeaver · 05/08/2012 07:46

My eyes were out on stalks at some of the stuff I saw yesterday. I normally just march through the clothing section to the food hall not mooch about looking at it all.

They have it in Brighton it's horrid though and anything the DM endorses is usually everywhere before long. M and s always late to the party birds and animals on clothes very last year!

dexter73 · 05/08/2012 08:44

I thought it was really nice. It is not a very obvious owl pattern until closer up. The shape looked flattering and the material felt nice and thick. Lovely colour too.

noddyholder · 05/08/2012 09:41

It is a take on an old alaia type dress from the 90s! A la liz hurley. Better than the owl -just!

ElizaDoMore · 06/08/2012 17:20

DP similar style?

LizzieMint73 · 06/08/2012 17:25

They had loads in the owlcotes(!) store today - I tried it on but wasn't sure. I did buy this - looks great with skinnies and heels for a night out.

ineedsomepeaceandquiet · 06/08/2012 17:56

So I brought this and initially loved it but the more I looked at it and tried it on again the more I thought it made me look like I should be working in Natwest. Have now taken it back!

CoffeeMummy · 06/08/2012 20:54

Ha! This thread is amusing me. I want one too! I think?! Grin at 'should be working in Natwest' peaceandquiet

I looked up this dress last week before I went on holiday but didn't order - I didn't check stock but I BET it was in. A week later and sod's law - sold out. I'd at least like to try it on!

Agree with some of M&S iffy choices for this season - it's not just the owl dress which looks like a bank uniform, some of the blouses are seriously blurgh.

Like the DP dress though Eliza - was hoping I could do the owl one for workwear, and the DP one is just a bit smarter. Although I think I'm becoming a tad addicted to bird etc prints...I don't want to be That New Girl That Wears Bird Prints All The Time Smile

Rexy · 06/08/2012 22:39

I succumbed and bought it, look forward to wearing it with tights or leggings, usually a size 12 but had to size up, but really like it.

DontCallMeMummyPig · 08/08/2012 12:00

There's a size 10 in the big Handforth Dean branch in Manchester. I'm holding it. Doesn't suit me, annoyingly! I'll be here for the next 30 mins looking at shoes if any if you want it!!!! Smile
