Best moisturiser for oily skin/breakouts.

I have recently purchased eve Lom cleanser which I totally love. My skin looks amazing and was looking for a moisturiser which is equally as amazing. My skin is prone to breakouts so it has to be oil free and I don't have a budget as long as it is good. Is eve Lom moisturiser worth a shot? . I'm 31 so some anti age prevention might be needed too.. Any suggestions??help needed as my brain is frazzled from reading beauty blogs..Tia

The only moisturiser I have ever used on my oily skin is by Lush, it's called Enzymion and is pretty good. But I find I don't really even need that, I don't use one anymore.

Nivea Q10 pore refining is working really well for me at the moment and I've tried all sorts, the only thing that came close was a £150 plus America skincare regime thingy with which you had to wear sunscreen all the time. I've also discovered that Freederm gel is amazing for blitzing breakouts almost immediately.

I find Olay Total Effects Blemish Care works for me. Also the Body Shop tea tree one (as long as you don't mind the smell of tea tree!)

LilRedWG · 01/08/2012 22:12

Only thing that works for me is the oil cleansing method - 25% castor oil, 75% olive oil and a hot wash cloth.

Good Things miracle mattifier is amazing and only costs £7.99. It is the only thing that has managed to tempt me away from Clinique dramatically different moisturising gel

Rose water on cotton wool wiped over face followed by a small amount of coconut oil works for me.

OCM once a week to clear pores, gives me spots if I do it more often then that.

No

Get Neutrogena
It's the bizzo and has a BHA that works whilst moisturising

chocolatespiders · 02/08/2012 00:27

I second the Neutrogena one. DD has been using it and it has made such a difference.. Quite hard to get hold of though, think I found it in superdrug in the end. There is a similar one in the same range in Boots

PerryCombover · 02/08/2012 00:39

Oh and these facial cloths will work just as well as the Eve Lom gubbins

Sheldonella · 02/08/2012 10:44

Neals Yard palmarosa moituriser is the only one that seems to work for me. It's a bit expensive but has lasted months so far. I have not managed to find anything with quite the same texture.

HazleNutt · 02/08/2012 13:32

No you don't need oil-free. Quite the opposite, all those mattifying products will dry your skin out and make it produce even more oil. Try Dr Hauschka Normalizing Oil.

Clarabumps · 02/08/2012 18:24

Thanks for all your suggestions.. I've ordered dr hauschkas normalising oil. I find my skin reacts better to natural ingredients than to chemicals. Olay cleansing cloths in my experience didn't even get my face clean.Sad I must have super deep pores.. Lovely! Thanks again! Grin

Weird..the Olay dry cloths with two different sides didn't get your skin clean?
Wow
V deep pores indeed
FYI
Eve Lom is far from natural as I'm sure you are aware
Unsure that adding oil to your skin will "normalise it" but if so oil cleansing method will do the work of Haushka at pennies

Clarabumps · 02/08/2012 22:03

Ooft... Nice reply! Confused Biscuit
Thanks again for your suggestions. But I didnt like the oil of Olay cloths...shoot me. I thought they were rubbish. I'd rather stick to the gubbins that works for me. Jeez.. Didn't realise that skin care could be snippy.

Something with BHA in it ( ie salicylic acid ) works fantastically for clogged pores, oily skin etc

I use Paula's choice skin perfecting BHA lotion which has salicylic acid, but is moisturising too. La Roche Posay Efflaclar range is also very good.

I also really like the Clarins lotus facial oil, for oily skin.

So, the salicylic acid lotion to exfoliate, and the facial oil to moisturise and balance the skin.

PerryCombover · 03/08/2012 08:46

Sorry Clara, was in a snippy mood.
Sigh

I was ? At your post as you need oil free?
Eve lom is an oil based cleanser but I'd guess you know that.

The Neutrogena suggested is a BHA (salicylic acid) so will clear your ultra deep (joke) pores of whatever EveLom leaves behind
The hauska product suggested is more oil and nothing fancy except perhaps the price

This was sort of why I was suggesting perhaps the oil cleansing method would be a better shout for you

For anti ageing - I use a serum and then an old lady moisuriser on top in the evening and I use a decent SPF everyday to keep away the sun's damaging rays (wherever they are)
