Just browsing on asos and saw this blouse and was reminded of it.

God I loved that dressing gown - reminds me of getting ready to go out in my youth . . . So who else had it?

i couldn't afford one Grin loved the make up though and had lots of those glittery eye shadows in glass tubes and the thick make up brush

HazeltheMcWitch · 31/07/2012 18:27

I lusted after that dressing gown, but to no avail.

I did have lots of the lippies though: I remember Iron Maiden, and I had a very bright red, caled Doris Karloff.

70, their whole beauty range was called Kiss and Makeup. And I loved it all.

lookingforgold · 31/07/2012 18:29

i had one, it was soooo lovely

it went off to uni with dd1 along with my snoopy duvet cover Grin

Gobstopper Pink lipstick was my favorite (chalky pinky white). And Fallon's Tallons nail polish.

I've still got a copper-coloured 'phial' of Kiss and Make Up glitter eyeshadow which I got for Christmas in 1982 - I can't throw it out (I don't wear it, though)

Liveinthepresent · 31/07/2012 19:26

I had it too - now you have reminded me of it I really want a new one... It was fab!

botoxschmotox · 31/07/2012 21:15

I had the dressing gown too.

I also loved those lip glosses from Boots that came in the little thin glass vials with the roll on bit at the end. You used to get them in different flavours but my fave was mint. I wish I could remember the make of them so I could have a google.

My favourite dress came from Chelsea Girl - it was bright red with gold leaves all over it. I used to accessorise with a gold leatherette plait tied across my forehead, under my enormous flicky hair.

This was just before my new romantic stage, where I channelled my inner Midge Ure/Ultravox look by wearing my Dad's work raincoat over my tartan trousers, lacey blouse and tuck boots - to the disco Shock

KissMyEmbroideryHoop · 31/07/2012 21:20

botox they sell those roll on lipglosses in my loal market! I doubt they're the same brand but tey tste the same!

KissMyEmbroideryHoop · 31/07/2012 21:24

This is a similar dressing gown? here

Or is it a poor imitation?

MrsCampbellBlack · 31/07/2012 21:25

My mum was (and still is) very fashionable. She used to work for them, and I'm not that young.. A year younger than said dressing gown as it happensWink

Can't find a link though

ujjayi · 01/08/2012 00:35

botox - I think I must have had the same "gold leaf" pattern dress except mine was white (also accessorised with mahoosive flick-tastic fringe achieved through copious amount of Boots Firm Hold hairspray).

We used to wear Constance Carroll lip glosses with rollerball applicators. Cola was my favourite

botoxschmotox · 01/08/2012 18:55

Have been to my mum's, and long story short, she produced the dressing gown from the back of her airing cupboard! Have tried it on, and I think its fair to say it doesn't look exactly how I remember (I don't recall having to move my boobs out of the way to tie up the belt the last time I wore it...) but it just still fits and everything. I was ridiculously happy to see it again Smile

rosieposey · 01/08/2012 19:10

I had the dressing gown AND the knickers - white pack of 3 ( or was it 5 ) with the pink lipsticks on.

I was 15 and I loved them so much, is that style of knicker with the elastic string at the sides called tango? I can't remember but it's apple catchers for me now ( pg with dc5 and 40!)

MrsCampbellBlack · 01/08/2012 19:14

Botox - you have to post some photos please!

I did tweet MissSelfridge and asked them to re-issue but they seemingly don't seem to value us [not quite their target market] Wink

I had it and LOVED it. It was really short though and very thin material. Grin I considered it the height of sophistication!
