Bare minerals colour help

I wear medium tan in the summer, and it looks great. What colour concealer would go with it?

I used to use medium foundation but was too ashy (hence the move to tan) and the summer bisque I had with that is too light.

I'm thinking honey bisque?

Also, could I get away with medium tan in the winter. Although I colour easy, in the winter I do go a bit pasty!!

So, any help would be, well, helpful :o

What about the normal Bisque Concealor - I think that's a 'one size fits all.'

Hallo, I used to do BE consultations so may be able to help. If you are a 'true' medium tan then yes honey bisque is the one for you. The standard bisque is relatively pale - best suited to medium foundations. However, it is a good 'chameleon'. I have to say, with all my clients I avoided using bisque wherever possible (unless they had specific areas of spots / Rosacea etc which needed heavier treatment) as I think you get a better result using the foundation itself as a concealer. My tip was: buff on your thin 'under layer' with your kabuki brush, then switch to your concealer brush & use the foundation without buffing, dabbing directly onto problem areas. Then buff however many layers you require over the top with your kabuki, buffing until you get a smooth result. I always found this gave a better blend than the bisques which can tend to look too heavy or draw attention to the area due to the colour not being 100% right

Thanks boy that's a great money saving tip!!!

What do you mean about true medium tan? I suspect I'm not! It dies give me colour, it isn't my normal skin colour. The medium just looked a bit dead on me iykwim? I realise I'll have to probably find another foundation for winter as the tan will not look as good then, maybe a bit to dark.

Hi team yeah when I say 'true' I mean the colour which when applied to your bare skin looks completely invisible. BE consultants are taught to take clients back to that colour - BE gives a flawless finish by marching to your true colour - essentially smoothing all features into a flat canvas. As you say, though, here in the UK we associate a 'tanned' look with health so many clients do go for darker shades than the makeup is ideally intended for. For 'perfect' results you match your colour as a base then use products like 'warmth' (a bronzer) and radiances to add contour and colour back in - can get great cheekbone effects etc with these and a bit of practise
