Another frump needing help!!

I have always known I was a frump, I have stuck to the same basics since I was 18 (I am now 28) tshirts, jeans, hoodies, black trousers, v neck jumpers, polo necks, cardigans. I have always shopped at Next, Wallis and somtimes M&S. As a PA I wanted to look 'corporate' but now I am getting older (and a Mum) I just think the look is ageing me and a missed opportunity to actually look fashionable and actually enjoy clothes. I do not have money to spend on magazines, can someone point me in the direction of some good fashion blogs and tips on how to look fashionable but sophisticated? I have below shoulder length platinum blonde hair (bleached) and a pale complextion. I wear make up but that is as far as I go beauty wise. Please help me look fashionable!!

I'm 5'3, a size 6-8 on top and a size 10 on the bottom, I am an A cup with a big bum! I have a bit of a mum tum, but because I am small on top i do look slim I think. I want to look my age really (28) instead of dressing to old. I like things that are comfy, I am not keen on high heels. I don't know if that helps at all!

I have been reading through some of the other threads and like the idea of chucking bootleg jeans, etc. away and getting some skinnies, ballet pumps, a t-shirt and a long cardi, a fab bag and some nice costume necklaces etc. I am just worried thought that this would then become my new 'uniform', I need a way I can stay up to date and look varied, buy I know nothing about fashion so tend to get 'stuck'.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I think that is a good idea to stay away from shops like next and m&s as I do go to the plainest clothes I can find for some reason! I am a bit scared by the thought of a dress or a mini or shorts or a biker jacket though!! I guess I have a long way to go.....

I did pick up a few bits from Tesco last night while getting a pint of milk! I did get a v-neck white t-shirt (but in defence I had just spilt spag bol on my last white t-shirt) but I also picked up a nice gold belt, and a blue bag with daisys on it so hopefully that may help brighten up the white t-shirt.
