We are going glamping next week. I hope think their is a hairdryer there, I know that I won't have anywhere to plug my straightners in. How can I make my hair look nice? It is thick, shoulder length. Would be quite nice to have it wavy?Just don't want to have to tie it back all week.

Gas powered hair straighteners. I take them to festivals and the like - they're Babyliss.

couple of twisty buns when you go to bed, run your fingers through it in the morning -tousled waves!

thanks princess I'll have a look at them but last time I used them was a nightmare. workshy I will try that thank you! Any idea of any products that would help?

Plaits at night are my other festival fall back...make it more deliberate waves than my usual half straight half wavy disaster.

waitingtobeamummy · 24/07/2012 22:30

:) princess do you do them wet or dry?

if your hair is anything like mine (very thinck and wavy, but waves where it wants to, not where I want it to) then you will just need a tiny amount of serum when you shake out the buns

I've tried the gas straightners and they just aren't hot enough (think that's the reson) to straighten my hair so if I'm camping I embrace the wave lol

Something like John Frieda frizz control serum is good. Something you can just smooth through your hair with your fingers and doesn't require any effort. You only need a minuscule bit so it comes in a small bottle which is great for glamping. Have a great time. Smile

I have thick hair and use gas powered straightener when camping.

I have found that just doing the top layer and fringe gives a good enough result, they just aren't hot enough to do a really good job, but I can calm things down enough to look myself in the eye IYSWIM !

PrincessOfChina · 25/07/2012 21:24

Sorry...missed the q's.

I would plait wet waiting

4 Yes, you're right. They're not hot but good for tidying up.

Other thing to consider is the John Frieda 6 Day Straight or whatever it's called. Definitely kept my hair manageable for 3+ days, certainly enough for the cooler gas straighteners to deal with it.

Where are you camping? Don't think I've ever encountered a campsite without a plug socket somewhere - may be one in the laundry room if nowhere else!
