I have bought a nailpolish from there today. Its revlon and the colour is gorgeous. A sort of greyish nude colour (sounds gross, but its lush) and a pound

Also got a rimmel lipgloss (stay put) and a maybelline mousse foundation.

I went to three pound lands today and none of them had branded cosmetics in :(
I went hoping to find the stila powder and tinted moisturiser.

anna1991 · 11/08/2012 21:52

Great, will check out poundland on Monday and get back to you

LissiesAWenlockLass · 12/08/2012 10:03

I love the stila tinted moisturiser.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 12/08/2012 11:45

I'll have to have a gander then.

cloudpuff · 13/08/2012 16:17

Going by some of the reviews on make up alley the tinted moisturise used to retail at about 50 dollars so its well worth the £1 price tag just to try. Been in mine today and they had none left - only the poweder foundation which I grabbed another one of. So I have 4 tinted moisturisers and and three powder foundations. Both are really lovely.
I did accidently buy a shade too dark and I dont know anyone with dark skin tones so will prob end up ebaying it.

lissielou · 13/08/2012 16:20

Ive just bought 2 more tinted moisturisers, to stock up. its lovely, especially in this type of weather.

I've had a bargain today - Tan In A Can! Just like the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs but only a quid!

And also look out for the Nair double moisturising hair removal cream with soy and pomegranate. It's amazing and leaves my legs really smooth and lasts a good five days. That's also sold in Bodycare for £1.40.

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 13/08/2012 19:03

I have a stila angel light in shade d - now I have looked at it, it's going to be too dark for me, so if anyone wants it FFP just PM me. Damn my pasty skin Sad

trixymalixy · 13/08/2012 20:22

Ah that makes me feel less miffed about not getting a light one angel. I normally wear the lightest shade in foundations so it would have probably been too dark for me. I went in to look today and there was loads of the whitening powder, but no foundation left.

NoillyPrat · 14/08/2012 12:05

I've just been to Poundland and got some Stila tinted moistouriser and some nice Revlon nail varnish.

I go almost every week to see what make up etc they have. Got some right bargains.

cloudpuff · 14/08/2012 13:30

Moaning minge- Id try that powder if I were you. I accidently got a dark one but tried it and it was perfect.

Trixy - the whitening powder is foundation. Its a powder foundation. Id get one just to try as they are good quality.

I read that they are meant for asian skin to lighten the tone and were originially only released in asia but Im pretty fair skinned and both the light shade and the dark one I accidently got both work for me.

Has anyone tried poundlands own branded range - chit-chat? I got the highlighter and its great, a perfect shade for me and covers my dark circles well, I use this on a day to day basis and keep my more expensive ones for special occasions. I also have a bronzing mosaic and thats great too and also three lipstick crayons which are great for having in your handbag, they dont last ages but are pretty colours and easy to apply without a mirror.
I dont think the chit-chat gel eyeliner is much cop. When it first goes on it looks great but fades to grey and flakes after an hour or so. The little brush it comes with for applying is great though.

cloudpuff · 14/08/2012 13:34

On yesterdays trip to poundland I got.
Two nivea wonder balms - lovely pigmented colours - just be careful as quite a lot of product comes out on first squeeze.
Another stila powder foundation.
A lord and berry lipstick pencil (amazing I love it)
some Q10 hand cream.
Nivea dry sking body lotion.
collection 2000 shimmer and shade ( lovely three colours of blush/highlighter in a flowery design)
w7 matt blush in the most gorgeous shade.

A few other bits and bobs which I cant remember. I love poundland...

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 14/08/2012 16:46

Ok, I may as well try it - I have the 'pale' garnier BB cream and that looks too dark too but it's fine when it's on.

Is the W7 stuff any good? They had some of that too but I couldn't think of anything else I possibly needed.

cloudpuff · 14/08/2012 17:00

w7 has some pretty good stuff and its pretty cheap to buy at full price too.
Their primers are brilliant and they have often been compared to smashbox primer which is very expensive. The primers are about £2.99 and there are three to choose from but they are all good, leave the skin like feeling velvet. I also like the camoflage kit, I paid £1.99 at it has five shades of concealer which you can mix and match to get the perfect shade, it lasts on my skin over half a day before I need to touch up which is good for the price. I also have several of their nail varnishes which I have found to be good, I can wear for three days before they start to chip, I love the crackled ones (in poundland at the moment) too.

Some of their products are a bit miss though but for the price you pay, be it in poundland or full price they are well worth a try.

Leithlurker · 14/08/2012 17:01

Yea poundland magic, especially for taking those benefit scrounging workshy bastards and totally ripping them off by forcing them to work for free. Must also reduce the cost of their wages bill as they will need less paid staff. Must be how you pick up such cheapo stuff eh!

lissielou · 14/08/2012 17:32

did I post this in "in the news" or "politics" by accident? Sorry!

Although, as a workshy, scrounging bastard, its nice to be able to afford the weekly shopping and toiletries...

Hey Lissie, my taxes are paying for your makeup! I am probably paying for you to have hot water and food for your child too Shock I don't work or pay tax

lissielou · 14/08/2012 18:17

aw, but thank you anyway. I now look beautiful. but poor. like cinderella.

I do think that there is a valid argument about affording principles there though.
