Who makes the best eyelash curlers?

I have lost my trusty eyelash curlers. I used them every day! Don't think they were expensive- approx 2/3yrs old.

Need to get a new pair ASAP so wondered if by spending more, I would get a better result?

I have the tweezerman ones from Boots and am happy with them. I really wanted the shu uemura ones but couldn't afford £20+! They are supposed to be amazing though.

I'd be interested to know this too. I've just got cheap boots ones and wondered if the expensive are any better?

singaporeswing · 23/07/2012 20:42

Shu Uemura without a doubt. Don't know what I did before them & are my essential desert island item! All MUA I've worked with in the past say the same, well worth the money and last ages.

£20 a pop though- are they really worth that much? Will invest if they areGrin

Another vote for shu uemera- they are tops. You get a refill pad with the set, so will prob last you a year or so. Pricey, but worth it!

LeftyLucy · 23/07/2012 23:44

I "invested" in a shu uemera set. I wouldn't bother again.

anniewoo · 24/07/2012 00:08

I have the Shu ones. They're just ok

LikeItOrNot · 24/07/2012 00:10

I got mine from Sainsburys. They're good. You get 3 of those little refills with them as well. Think they're under £10 if not under £5.

singaporeswing · 24/07/2012 00:40

I've tried cheapo curlers and they've just damaged my eyelashes. I've found that heating them slightly between your hands or in your armpit (!) before using them makes the curl last so much longer and really opens up your eyes.

PassTheTwiglets · 24/07/2012 09:05

I've got the Shu ones and can't tell the difference between those and the cheapo ones I had from Superdrug.

suburbandweller · 24/07/2012 09:16

I've been using the same set of Bodyshop ones for about 15 years. I have very long eyelashes so they're my beauty staple. They are probably the best value item I've ever bought based on price v. usage!

gobblegobs · 24/07/2012 09:44

Bobbi Brown. Get a refill eye lash cushion thing too

SugarBatty · 24/07/2012 09:48

The best I had was ruby and millie (rip) such a shame I can't get them anymore! Think I will try body shop cos I like their make up brushes.

I also used to heat mine with a hairdryer first as I heard it sets the curl better!

LaurieFairyCake · 24/07/2012 09:54

Eh? How can they only last a year?!

Ive had mine 10 yrs plus and they're fine - Boots ones.

pinguthepenguin · 24/07/2012 12:24

The pad on the shu ones wear out

cybbo · 24/07/2012 12:25

Shu emurer far superior to my cheapo ones

Bought mine cheaper on Buyapowa

anniewoo · 24/07/2012 13:45

I had plastic ones-no metal bought from am independent pharmacy, they were great. Lost them or they broke. Anybody seen all plastic ones for sale -I'd love to replace them.
