Touché Éclat foundation anyone?

Anyone tried it yet? I am in foundation credit balance due to using BD Tesco Facelift stuff which has a similar effect, but thought I might splash out on this.

it sounds fab

haven't tried it yet as i am skint :( but marking place to see if i can justify buying it :o

I got a sample last weekend and have been using it since, it's pretty sheer, gives a very natural coverage, not overly shiny - me likey and will be investing in a bottle ( disclaimer - I am a foundation whore ).

lurkingaround · 22/07/2012 18:26

Is it long-lasting? Or would it slide off my oily face by lunchtime?

Msarsebiscuit · 22/07/2012 18:47

Well I have combination skin and have a pretty strenuous job and it seems to last fine on me, I do use translucent powder on my t-zone to set it. I think the finish is meant to be slightly dewy ( which I like very much) but means that it will never have the staying power of something like Doublewear, which made me look like I was wearing a mask.

BourbonBourbon · 22/07/2012 19:13

Is the texture v different? Is meant to be gel-like or summat?

I used it for a year or so and thought it fab, then I got really wrinkly scaly skin under my eyes, and a make up artists suggested i try stopping using the touché éclat, and within a week it was gone. Haven't used it since, now use a benefit one.

Msarsebiscuit · 22/07/2012 19:32

I'm not sure if the texture's that different, it's quite a 'thin' liquid, I'd have said but it applies very well despite being quite sheer.

spanishring · 22/07/2012 19:37

It's v different to the touché éclat pen, which I can't stand.

It's really lovely. Really sheer but buildable and gives a lovely dewy finish. Without primer it lasted about 6 hours so not bad.

BourbonBourbon · 22/07/2012 19:37

Doublewear made me look dead msarse but to be fair I think I bought a shade too light! I definitely need a light-reflecting one so am excited about this. Not that I've tried the undereye stuff.

As a foundation tart have you tried Clarins True Comfort? It was my regular gunk for a light-reflecting visage before shifting affections to Tesco Blush

Double Wear Light.

DOUBLE. WEAR. LIGHT.

Not masking. Lasts.

BourbonBourbon · 22/07/2012 19:44

Does it make you look awake and radiant though? Coverage isn't the be all and endall and that's all DW normal one did for me.

OP posts:
spanishring · 22/07/2012 19:47

It made me look more awake and more polished without heavy coverage. I don't like cancelling everything out and use heavier concealer for spots and under eyes

Msarsebiscuit · 22/07/2012 19:48

No, Bourbon, I've never tried a Clarins foundation, for some reason I've never had the urge, although the list of ones I have used goes ( cough ) Mac, EL Doublewear Light, Doublewear ( shudder), Dior Nude, Shiseido, Illamasqua, Make Up Forever, Kevyn Aucoin, Giorgio Armani,Clinique ( back in the 80s), Chantecaille and By Terry. And a VERY momentary attempt to use Bare Minerals.

In my defence, as that list looks somewhat shameful, I'm very pale and a lot of foundations are too yellow for me.

BourbonBourbon · 22/07/2012 19:53

Ooh which Armani one? I fancy Luminous Silk one.

thekidsarealright · 22/07/2012 20:02

faints in shock at the sheer magnitude of this idea

Where do I get it? How much is it? What with this and the babyliss big hair eBay win of this morning things can't possibly get better

Eliza22 · 22/07/2012 20:05

DW Light is NOTHING like the standard Double Wear. For me, the light is like a mini facelift. I use a weeny amount. It's all that's needed as a long lasting base.

Msarsebiscuit · 22/07/2012 20:07

Bingo, Bourbon, Armani Luminous Silk is the very chap. It's one of my current favourites but is Dewy Central. I found the Touché Éclat foundation to be slightly less shiny.

Msarsebiscuit · 22/07/2012 20:10

I found the main problem with Doublewear Light ( which I liked about 5 million times more than DW itself ) is that the lightest colour was too dark for me.
