I'm going on holiday to Egypt next month and need a comfortable dress that will withstand children pawing at it for the journey. I'm a size 10/12, 5ft5 apple shape.

Whaddya think?

I wouldn't wear a dress on the plane tbh.
If anyone spills anyhting on it, you won't be able to wear it during your holiday. Also, arriving in Egypt, I would be covered until I got to the resort.

I don't have any special clothes that I have just for holiday apart from beachwear - just clothes if it's hot (unlikely in the UK obv) Am I abnormal?

The Maxi Luggage Carousel story is that I was by the carousel and hefted a bag I thought was mine off the carousel. It wasn't so I hefted it back on except the hem of my maxi (White Company) got hooked on the this suitcase and then further wedged underneath the bag. I had to do a very ungainly circuit of the carousel until I could free myself. I thought it was going to be a choice of ripping the dress or having circle the carousel indefinately .
